Dixon, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario Metropolitan Statistical Area. Dixon was founded in 1872 as an agricultural community on the bank of the San Gabriel River. The name "Dixon" may be derived from one or more of these sources: a white settlement that had been named for David Dixon, Surveyor General of California during the Mexican–American War; or post office established in 1865 by J.P. Morgan and his partners to serve residents near San Bernardino and Riverside Counties
