When the first quartz-crystal optical telescope was unveiled in 1868, it revolutionized astronomy. The telescope was made by George Stephenson, an Englishman who developed the coal mine locomotive and later founded the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. Stephensons new telescope used a thin glass plate with a lens at one end and a mirror at the other to view heavenly objects. This technology revolutionized optics by allowing for smaller lenses, greater detail within images, better clarity when watching movies, etc. With this new technology came increased prices for Optical Components and Accessories which made it difficult for consumersto afford quality products whenever they wanted them. However, over time advancements have been made in terms of production methods which have led to lower prices and even reasonable shipping on all orders over $50!
