When World War I began there was much activity around here due to production at nearby Beaumont Mines; however it gradually decreased as war progressed and soon stopped completely. After World War I many people moved away from here because of various factors such as changes in technology or economy which affected many parts of California at that time- some moving north towards Los Angeles while others chose other options such as San Francisco Bay Area or Northern California due to more favorable economic conditions during those years than what had been available east of Fresno (then part of Mexico). However after years of research by mining companies into finding new deposits within Kern County most people agreed that Diamond Bar would be best suited for uranium mining so development started there instead with about 20 buildings erected over several decades until 1951 when all operations ceased because uranium prices plummeted followingproduction depths achieved by others with less expensive resources outside our county! Today much remains unchanged from those halcyon days- including this beautiful old adobe building which dates back to 1898!!!
