For over 100 years, our citizens have been able to enjoy the use of handguns for protection and recreation. The first shooting galleries were established in Delano in 1892, and soon after began to offer lessons and competitions to aspiring shooters. In 1911, the city council passed a law that required all firearm owners to carry a license at all times. This law was designed to keep people safe by prohibiting them from owning weapons that could be used in crime. As time passed, other municipalities followed suit and began adopting similar laws. By 1938, there were over 70 cities with handgun regulations in effect. Today, guns are still essential for defense and recreation in Delano – both inside and outside of the library! The City Council continues its support of gun rights by voting every year to pass new ordinances regulating firearms within the city limits. We’re grateful for their decision each time!

In 1916, a man by the name of Harry Kotz began manufacturing shotgun magazines out of his home on Seventh Avenue near Interstate 5 South. His company continued making these types of magazines until 1938. Delano, California is a town in Fresno County, California. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Tulare River and is east of Fresno. The name Delano comes from Spanish and means "Haven". In 1849, General John C. Fremont founded the towns of San Joaquin and San Bernardino to provide a base for his War of 1846 attempt against Mexico. The settlements were named after General Fremont's brother-in-law, Governor Manuel Michelino de la Hoz. The first post office was established in 1851, and as a result of its location on the river it quickly became an important transportation center for goods moving between Fresno and other parts of California. By 1870, there were over 40 businesses in Delano with a payroll exceeding $1 million per year! Today, much of what made Delano such an important commercial center has dissipated: most companies have closed down or relocated within the past few decades due to competition from nearby cities such as Fresno or Oakhurst. However, some remnants of this once dominant economy remain; one example is the originalación restaurant which still stands today and provides excellent food at an affordable price point

Delano is a town in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 21,491 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sacramento–Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what would become Delano was George Hutton in 1847. He and his wife, Mary Jane (née Dickinson), arrived on horseback from Oregon via the Bancroft Trail. In 1853, they founded the town on Rancho Viejo within present-day Delano Village boundaries. In 1864, John Cranch subdivided Rancho Viejo into parcels for himself and others with intention of founding a new city there; however, no one established city status until 1868 when it was renamed Delano after General John Cranch's father-in-law, James P. Delany Sr.. The original City of Delano burned down on July 4th 1865 due to an inferno started by cattle that had been kicked over by cattle prodigies that summer at nearby Winton Field nearpresent Day Redding. In 1870–71 the U.S., Mexican and Chinese governments negotiated Treaty #6 which ceded most ofsfederal land east of the Sonoma River to Mexico as well as any water rights around Lake Oroville including current day Elk Grove Village There were also boundary changes resulting in portions of today's Milpitas being annexed into delaware while other areas such as Petaluma were added to San Joaquin County Some years later this border change resulted in much disputed land located between present day Fremont and Redding becoming part of Santa Clara County while various unincorporated communities within those counties became part of delaware Today most people identify themselves with their county or hometown rather than their state or country Of course all these changes have had some impact on local culture and demographics which can be seen throughout history especially during times of economic prosperity like today where many people may move away but maintain close ties through family/friend relationships
In 1848, the town of Delano was founded on a rancho belonging to Manuel Nieto. The first post office in Delano opened in 1849. In 1868, the town became an incorporated municipality.
