The city also became known for its production of fruits and vegetables which attracted agriculturalists from surrounding counties who began selling their produce in Delano's downtown marketplaces throughout the 1920s. Today Delano continues to be a major food producer in Northern California with significant crops such as grapefruit, applesauce, almonds, cottonseed oil (used in paints), soybeans (for biodiesel production), eggs/chicken products (farmed with antibiotics or without them), cattle feedstock (used for meat production), dairy products (including cheese), beer and wine

Delano is a census-designated place in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 7,869 at the 2010 census.
