Danville, California is a small town located in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The town was founded on October 25, 1877 by George A. Smith and his wife Emma with the name of "Holtville." In 1916, the town changed its name to Danville after Captain John F. Danvers who had fought in the Mexican-American War and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery.Danville is known as a Manufacturing and Trade center for manufacturing firearms, holsters and accessories such as martial arts training gear. The first gunsmith in Danville was Mr. Wm. Hoyle who opened up shop in 1879 at 5th and Jeffries street.
