Dana Point, California is a town located in Orange County, California. It is the largest city in Dana Point and it is also home to the Dana Point Marine Corps Base. The navy base was established at Dana Point in 1910 and has been home to many of America's most famous warships, such as USS Constitution (1797-1877), USS Perry (1944-1945), USS John S. McCain ( 2008 ), and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (1958-1959). The first ammunition factory in Dana Point was built by George White who opened his factory on First Street in 1892. Ammunition production began within a few years of White's opening and continued until 1906 when he sold his business to Fenton Powder Company which remained manufacturing ammunition until 1926. The company built a new plant on Third Street which became known as the "Fenton Plant". The new plant produced shells for both handguns and rifles from 1907 until 1915 when it was closed due to World War I munitions shortages. In 1921, the company merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company which had been founded by William Hogg in 1855. Winchester Ammunition production began at the "Hogg Plant" which became known as the "Winchester Plant". The combined operation Produced shells for both handguns and rifles from 1915 until 1922 when it merged with Harrodsbury Rifle Works Incorporated producing shotguns only before being shut down due to World War II munitions shortages again. In 1945, Winchester Ammunition Co., Incorporated merging with Remington Arms Company resulted in an increase in production of rounds for machineguns during World War II while Harrodsbury Rifle Works continued making shotguns only throughout World War II having a total output of over 2 million rounds per year! In 1963, Armourtech Corporation was founded by Harry Pratt who had retired from Winchester Ammunition after twenty years of service! Armourtech soon became one of America's leading manufacturers of ammunition products! Armourtech produces rounds for pistols, revolvers, shotguns, sniper rifles, among others! Their headquarters is located on Harbor Drive adjacent to Pier 6 along with their main manufacturing facility; this allows them continual growth while still providing their customers with high quality ammo products! Dana Point is a town in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 15,763 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego-Carlsbad Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Dana Point were Spanish Missionaries in 1769 and they named it "San José de las Palmas". In 1821 Dana Point was made an official port of entry for California into the United States as part of Mexico's admission into the United States. In 1870 Dana Point became an incorporated municipality. In 1901 Captain John Farragut anchored his USS "Hornet" at anchor off shore and invited inhabitants of nearby Isla Vista to come ashore for dinner on October 10th. After dinner Farragut allowed men to liberty and explore the island before returning back underway that night with supplies for his ship. The event is now known as their "Farragut Day". In 1923 when World War II began, Dana Point became one of many Pacific Coast communities which mobilized to support the war effort by manufacturing goods such as munitions, clothing and food necessary for American troops fighting in Europe and Asia. Many people also volunteered their services in local fire departments or served in military units stationed along the coastlines. After World War II ended there was a massive migration of residents from Northern California due to racial segregation laws enacted during that time period. The influx led to increased development around Marina Boulevard which included high-end apartments, hotels and casinos which continue to be popular today among locals and tourists alike. Starting in 1964 Dana Point started offering small towns within its boundaries access to citywide resources such as water treatment plants, libraries, shopping malls and schools through city government funding called "City Wide Services." As more people moved into townspeople built new homes up overlooking Marina Boulevard making it difficult for pedestrians or cyclists who relied on bicycles for transportation (and often had no other form of transportation available)To get around town centre these new residents needed cars or motorcycles which became increasingly difficult to obtain as prices escalated along with gas mileage requirements starting out very low but quickly increasing over time until becoming prohibitively expensive within a few years leading some people[including mayor Chuck Hahn]to consider secession from city government

Dana Point is a census-designated place in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 8,331 at the 2010 census. Dana Point includes sections of the town of Dana Point and the city of Irvine. The first documented reference to Dana Point was in 1592 when it was known as "Chesapeake." In 1795, Rancho Santa Margarita was granted to Jose Maria del Pino by Spanish governor Manuel de la Guardia. The name came from the Channel Islands which are located nearby - hence "Santa Margarita" - and since this rancho ran into Mexican territory it continued to be called Rancho del Pino even after becoming part of Mexico proper. In 1846, following Mexican independence from Spain, American settlers founded the town of Dana point on land that had been part of Mexico for over 150 years. The name originated with Commodore John Davenport who named his new harbor "Dana point" in honor of Rear Admiral Samuel Dana (1787-1857), one of America's most distinguished naval commanders during its early days. At first only developed as an agricultural community, development accelerated when local shipyards became world leaders in producing warships and other military hardware during World War II. After majorities were acquired by Japanese forces during World War II, many buildings were destroyed or altered for use as airfields or storage warehouses; however, some notable structures such as Fort De Soto remain today. In 1957 developer Edwin Heller bought majority interest in shipyards closed by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) due to large layoffaffecting 300 jobs at then-downtown Dana Point; he shifted production ashore at two mothballed shipsyards near Seal Beach before moving all production back to downtown Pierce City in 1969 under the new name Community Shipbuilding Corporation (CSBC). CSBC became a subsidiary of Nucor Corporation until it went bankrupt in 1990; thereafter it reverted back to Heller's ownership until sold to Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) for $2 billion USD in 2003. In 2006 HII merged with DuPont Company and rechristened them Dupont company plc.;-) currently NASDAQ:DuPont
