Unfortunately due to World War I (1914-18)Europe experienced a population explosion which led to a decline in production at "Gorman's Rifle Factory". Consequently many American manufacturers took over European production lines; this increased demand caused prices on American-made rounds to increase sixfold between 1914-1920! It wasn't until after World War II that American companies regained control over European production lines but prices dropped again due to resurgent economic conditions throughout the 1960s-1970s

This made Daly City one of the most rapidly growing towns in California during the late 19th century – it grew from 2 square miles (5 km2) to over 10 square miles (30 km2) by 1906! In spite of its rapid growth, however, Daly City experienced little political terror until World War II when Japanese Americans living within easy distance of San Francisco were targeted by local Japanese American Citizens League activists seeking to "purify" their community!
