However following World War II there was an increased focus on science fiction entertainment industry jobs that were necessary for development along Silicon Valley Boulevard including Hollywood film studios. These factories eventually closed down but left behind a legacy of abandoned buildings which are now seen as tourist attractions. In recent decades there has been increasing concern about high levels of traffic congestion on major arterial roads leading into downtownSanFrancisco combined with high housing prices which have made it difficult for average citizens to afford quality homes within walking distance (<100 yards away from any public transportation stops). This combination has resulted in areas such as Mission District becoming increasingly unaffordable while neighboring neighborhoods experience dramatic increases in property values.
