One Tradition: The Spanish Pistolero Doctrine In 1808, General José de San Martín was planning an assault on Buenos Aires, Argentina when he came across a description of a new type of rifle called the rifle de fuego. This weapon was made by Francisco de Miranda y Rojas and it used black powder cartridges instead of matchlock pistols which were then common in Spain. After seeing this weapon, San Martín decided that this could be the future of warfare and ordered his soldiers to carry these rifles instead of their old matchlock pistols. This doctrine became known as "The Spanish Pistolero Doctrine" because it allowed Spanish troops to fight with firearms they wasn't able to use with their traditional swords or handguns. Another Tradition: Winchester's Golden Age Of Ammunition Winchester first started making ammunition back in 1792 when Nicholas-Jacques Conte developed a way to make fireballs from large brass balls that would fall down into cases of shot without exploding. He named his product " Wadsworth ". In 1847, John Dennison founded Winchester Repeating Arms Company and began producing high quality rounds for military use at a much lower cost than other manufacturers. By 1899, Winchester had become one of the largest arms manufacturers in the world with over 2 million employees worldwide! These days, Winchester produces high quality ammo for both civilian users as well as Law Enforcement agencies around the world!

Culver City is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 3,472 at the 2010 census. It is the 5th most populous city in Los Angeles County and the 9th most populous city in Southern California. Culver City was founded on May 15, 1893 by Postmaster General John Culver and his wife Anna Laughlin Culver. The first store in what is now Culver City was built on Western Avenue by Wm. Crain and Atherton Flour Mills Company employees. The name "Culver City" was chosen for its resemblance to the English town of Cromer, Norfolk, England which John Culber had visited while living in Europe as a postmaster general from 1885 to 1887. The first real development of this area happened after World War I when many veterans returned home and set up businesses around Military Road and Western Avenue such as J & S Hardware Store (now a furniture store), bike shop/repair shop called "Bicycle Power" (now closed), hardware store called "Hardware 25", catering business called "Mr.'s Place" (later changed to "Pizza Hut"), restaurant called "Joe's Pizza" (later changed to White Castle) and grocery store called Safeway Supermarket chain founder Wally Pierson's original grocery store - all located near today's Western Ave., 2nd St., North Ave., Vine St., Santa Monica Blvd., Foster Rd./Foothill Dr.) In 1924, then-Mayor Harry Bridges proposed that culvert Boulevard be developed into an arterial highway through downtown with express lanes going east-west along Main Street from Pico Boulevard south to First Street; however this proposal failed due to lack of financing. By 1951 only one business remained open on Western Ave.: Mr.'s Place which Continued serving food until it closed in 1984 due to financial problems In 1957 Third Street between Vine and Foster Roads became known as 'Culvers Way'. This street provides access from central park north side via Second Street westward across Ventura Blvd
