In 1865, George Fenton platted his holdings near present-day Big Sur on behalf of the East Bay Water District; this district became known as Fentonville after him. In 1872, James Buchanan Polk appointed Judge John Woolridge to preside over a court hearing that resulted in a rich donation from Ignacio Sembrano to build San Francisco's only high school – La Salle College – which opened September 17, 1872 under then-Governor Alameda Pierce (). This event helped revive interest in education within the community and set off a lasting legacy between La Salle College and then-CUDAHY High School which continues today! From here on out it was all about making farm runs into town for groceries/cereal during those headwinds created by Russian River Gold Rush fever! That said there were also some great things that happened during that time like being home to Camp Arboretum which served as both county fairgrounds & training ground for US Marines during World War I while also housing various Native American Tribes events such as powwows etc... before finally closing due to lack of funding way back then

Cudahy is a small town located in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 3,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cudahy was founded in 1891 by Adrian Cudahy Sr. and his wife Emma Annette Haskell as a small farming community on the east side of what is now Interstate 10. The name "Cudahy" means "place where cows are milked." In 1916, Adrian's son, John H., named the community after his father's favorite horse, Cudahy Arabia. The first post office in Cudahy opened in 1892. In 1907, the town had two stores and one grocery store and 11 residents. The first school was built in 1911 and it served grades K-12 until 1920 when it became an annex to nearby Chatsworth High School. A second school was built in 1922; this school served grades 9-12 until 1957 when it became an annex to neighboring Diamond Bar High School. In 1959, voters passed a resolution to merge with adjacent Diamond Bar to form one school district which would include both schools. The new district had 12 schools (grades 7-12) and 1 library with a total of 24 bookshelves! In 1978, another vote passed to merger with neighbouring Riverside which also formed one school district! The merged districts had 31 schools (grades 7-12) and 2 libraries! In 1984, another vote passed to amalgamate all 3 districts into one larger entity known as the San Bernardino Valley Unified School District which included all but 2 of the current 31 schools within its boundaries! This single entity has since grown very large - now consisting of over 450 students from preKindergarten through 12th grade! continued growth has been evident throughout recent years as more families have moved into our area seeking quality education options close by! The Town of Cudahy Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection for all citizens within its jurisdiction as well as assisting law enforcement whenever needed (e.g., roadblocks). Also located within our boundaries are several parks that provide opportunities for physical activity such as soccer tournaments or baseball games outside during summer months; these events often attract many spectators who enjoy watching local high school athletes perform at their best!
