Bullets have been a part of the American experience since the Revolutionary War. The first bullets were created in 1775 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte, an officer in the French army, to shoot game with his rifle. The first firearms that could kill humans were designed by James Cook in 1793 and used by the British military. In 1836, Captain John Fenton of the United States Marine Corps developed a new type of bullet that could travel over 12 inches without stopping. The development of handguns made it possible for people to carry rounds larger than 9 mm cartridges indoors and led to increased usage of bullets through out America. On July 6, 1861, John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln from a distance with a .45 caliber bullet while he was attending a play at Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C. This event is considered one of the most significant moments in American history and helped spur on the Civil War. Bullet usage continued to increase until 1968 when assault rifles became popularized in America and began using more powerful rounds such as 7mm Remington Magnum calibers. After years of research and development, modern ammunition has brought about enhancements such as jacketed bullets that reduce wound Friday rates (WFR) and stop shots shorter than 20 feet away (ASR). Cudahy is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 24,387 at the 2010 census. It lies on the east side of the San Francisco Peninsula and is adjacent to Richmond. The Cudahy area has been inhabited by human beings since at least 10,000 years ago. The first permanent settlement in what is now Cudahy was made by Missionaries Obispo and Frate Antonio de Anza on May 25, 1827. In 1851 Cudahy became a town when it was annexed by Oakland. On July 1, 1906, the City of Oakland merged with Cudahy to form one municipality under the name of Oakland-Cudahy. In 1978 thirteen western Contra Costa County communities formed the Hercules Valley Community Development District which included parts of present day Hayward and Orinda. The purpose of this organization was to promote agricultural production in areas surrounding Hercules Lake and its water supplies through cooperative efforts with farmers from other nearby communities

Cudahy is a small town in Imperial County, California, United States. The population was 1,503 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of San Bernardino County and is northeast of downtown Riverside. The town was founded by pioneers in 1876 as Red Bank Cottage during the gold rush. Its name derives from an early discovery of copper ore there. The first post office was established in 1879, and the first store opened in 1880. In 1907, Cudahy became part of Riverside and its ZIP code was 92536. In 1932 it became part of San Bernardino County when that county was created from parts of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In 1957, most of the old millinery district around the junction of State Street and Union Avenue were sold to developer Harry Harkins for $5 million after years of planning by local officials including Mayor James Ahern (1905-1985). At that time it had been determined that all but one mile (1 km) of this valuable land would be developed into housing developments: "Harkins Towne", which included more than 100 homes; "Upper Cudahy", which had 82 homes; "Lower Cudahy", with only 24 homes; and "Anchor Point", with 12 homes construction started in 1959 but not completed until 1964 before being abandoned due to high water levels within Anchor Point reservoir caused by drought conditions brought about by global warming. However, plans for Anchor Point were revived beginning in 1990 when developer Bruce Rappaport purchased property adjacent to Anchor Point from Harkins's estate following a purchase offer made by then-Mayor Don Weisman (1994-2002). After years delays due to environmental concerns surrounding anchor point development, work began on new anchor point condos starting in 2007 with completion expected by 2016[2]. A short distance away from anchor point sits another shopping center known as Upper Cudahy Village which opened in 1987,[3] followed later that year by Lower Cudahy Village which also opened[4].
The first Europeans to visiting the area were Missionaries in 1769. The most significant event of this time was Mexican War of 1846-1847, in which American forces invaded Mexico and successfully defeated the Mexican army. The area became part of United States after the war. Cudahy was incorporated as a city on February 11, 1872.
