The old Rinconada Adobe still stands today as one of the oldest historical buildings in Sonoma County. However, it is not considered part ofCoronado National Historic Park due to its location outside of town boundaries. Most of what is now Marin County was acquired byCalifornia during the 1906 earthquake and fire which destroyed most of San Francisco and much of East Bay City including Oakland and Berkeley; however some land around Sausalito became part of Marin County because it had been annexed by Palo Alto
