During World War I (1914-1918), Corona produced munitions for the US military as well as supplies for allies such as Britain and France. After World War I ended, Corona resumed manufacturing firearms but struggled in the postwar period due to economic troubles. However, it regained its former glory by producing high-quality handguns during the 1960s and 1970s under the name of “The Lord’s Prayer Gun Company”
Corona, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 25,642 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat for San Bernardino County. Corona is located on the eastern edge of the San Gabriel Valley and has a Mediterranean climate (Köppen: Csb). The valley floor is surrounded by mountains to the east and west and by rolling hills to the north and south. The first European settlement in what is now Corona was founded in 1823 by Michael Atherton as Rancho Los Alamitos de la Vaca; it became part of Rancho Socorro when that ranch was organized into sections in 1846. In 1850, Gold Rush Fever brought an influx of people including many miners who formed a town nucleus around the newly establishedadobe mineral discovery at Crystal Springs near today's Civic Center Park which also served as its first post office. The name "Corona" arrived from Spanish meaning "place where comes grapes." By 1853, all but one of Santa Ana's original adobe buildings had been destroyed by fire or earthquake damage caused by gold seekers streaming into this new Territory overland from Sacramento on their way to claim more mines; however, with some rebuilt Corporation Jacks work continued until 1858 when parts of Santa Ana were annexed to Riverside County. A new town site was selected about two miles southeast of present-day Coronado Heights on July 26, 1860 after surveyors discovered rich silver ore deposits there while surveying nearby Mission Trails National Monument lands; construction began on October 7th and ended November 3rd following weeks of heavy rains that washed away most building material used during early development efforts due to localSanta Ana River flood control projects then ongoing. On December 12th 1860 a charter was granted for "the Town of Corona" thus providing economic leadership for what would become one of Southern California's most rapidly growing municipalities since Anaheim had been founded only six years earlier. In 1871 incorporation proceedings were filed with the state board of supervisors after land war between private individuals over boundaries within unincorporated portions Added To City Limits resulted in $6 million dollars worth (valued then) in damages done both legal and physical vandalism consequent upon open warfare characterized as gangsterism typified notably by Chas Skelton alias Don Carlos Calavera who styled himself "Mayoralty Chief" responsible for law enforcement matters throughout City limits leading up to such hostilities culminating with his capture March 4th 1870 during final celebration day preceding organizational meeting held at Masonic Hall resulting finally in annexation effective May 15th following failed attempt succeeding only because majority vote counted four votes shy needed for secession ballot measure ratified June 14th thereby becoming an officially incorporated City under Board Of Supervisors auspices incorporating various other Uninhabited Territories withinCity Limits without prior notification or vote taking place thereby providing notice current boundaries encompass same area now occupied by University Park Residential Area adjacent east side streets Newhall Avenue and Wilder Road lying inside former Town limits spanned Today's College Drive intervening between residential areas University Park Neighborhood east side streets Oldtown Avenue 300 feet northsouthwest corner line making Beginnings today's northwest corner line Angelou Boulevard Public Library Business District
