The railroad became very successful and contributed greatly to the growth of Modesto over time. Over time there have been many changes to how business is conducted in Corcoran as well as various construction projects that have taken place within its boundaries including: a new shopping mall called River's Edge development; an elementary school; a hospital; and several high rises including One Market Tower (formerly known as Kaiser Permanente building).
