In addition to its economic importance for Commerce City itself there have also been several large projects announced or completed by local businesses within the past few years that have had an impact on surrounding neighborhoods: #1 – A new mixed-use development called One Valley Center will be built next to Staples Records store at 9800 First Street South near Interstate 5; this project will include a Walmart Supercenter as well as dozens of residential units run by Holyoke Properties LLP.; #2 – A new high school adjacent to CenturyLink Field soccer field will be named La Jolla High School; it will serve students from grades 8 through 12; this project was funded by Microsoft Corporation’s contribution towards campus construction costs.; #3 – A large garage complex on former naval Air Station El Centro known as Gateway Garage Complex will be converted into office space for small business owners; this project has received approval from both LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and LA County Supervisor Camila Perez ;
