They built a cabin on the site of present day State Route 24 which they called "Willis House". After some time they moved out because of poor soil quality but continue to live there until their death in 1865 at the age of 89 years old. Their children married into other pioneer families and soon there were 10 families living in what is now known as "Oldtown". A group of men led by James Melson came across an abandoned Rancho Lomas Adobe on January 17th 1849 while travelling downhill from San Bernardino County towards Mono Lake - this would be their final stop before starting their journey back upriver again en route back home to California. Landing at what is nowColton Creek on February 9th they started building permanent dwellings using adobe bricks that still remain today within walking distance of Old Town Hall! At first all 8 men lived in one room but soon more space became available so different rooms were added over time including 3 bathrooms (now part of Old Town Hall). cooking pits (still extant) also located nearby later became homes for many during those early days when cookstoves could not actually be used indoors! By July 1st 1850 all but 2 members of the party had left after becoming ill with smallpox brought over by travelers on their way back home sickened by this new epidemic sweeping through California! Some people did return however most settled near Willis House where they erected a temporary shelter while awaiting news from above about whether or not reinforcements could be sent... finally being allowed entry into California on October 15th 1850! On November 7th 1850 Captain David Folsom reached Monterey Bay with HMS Beagle carrying scientific specimens collected during his travels along America's Pacific coast – among them coral tissue taken from various locales including Elkhorn Reef off Baja California Sur - bringing attention both ashore at Monterey Bay & abroad to our newly discovered continent!!! It has been claimed that these items may have influenced King George Washington's decision to annex North America… though no evidence exists support this claim either!! In any case Lt.-Governor Pio Pico ordered Captained Folsom back up river immediately without delay due to fears another American Expedition might reach us here instead!!! On December 5th 1850 just before leaving for his next portof call at Peten Canyon he left behind 12 crates full OF CORAL Tissues!!!!! To this day every windowill throughout OldTown rests upon Masonrystone piled high 4 feet thick souvenir OF THAT IMPORTANT DAY….. Nowaday’s business district lies adjacent TO THE REAL STATE ROAD 24 WALKING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OLD TOWN HALL Which WAS BUILT BY HIS MODesty HARVEY AND HER FAMILY YEARS BEFORE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today much like then parts of OldTown are: residential areas such as Parkland Estates & Willowbrook Village; commercial districts such as The Main Street District; government buildings such asOld Town Hall & Municipal Courts; churches including Stations Of The Cross Methodist Church & First Baptist Church; schools including Our Lady Of Mount Carmel School District #1; numerous restaurants/cafés/bars serving up delicious food options especially late night hours……….
