Commodore Matthew Perry arrived at Coalinga with his flagship USS Olympia on October 3rd 1872 and anchored offshore while supplies were unloaded ashore for Perry's military expedition against Mexico City that winter; this event led to numerous local businesses being established during the early years of cooperative marketing practices popularized by Perry’s men ashore On January 1st 1893, Mexican president Porfirio Díaz announced a decree abolishing all religious orders within Mexico both inside and outside of yerba Buena Fortress;[3] this event led many people including residents of Coalinga who had grown used to their Catholic priests providing them with quality services such as education and healthcare (and later running their own churches) to convert suddenly into atheists or Mormons or other denominations In 1902 General Antonio López Regalado ordered all Army troops stationed along US-Mexico border re-trained under American general Pershing so that they could take part in efforts against Pancho Villa;[4][5][6] as a result many buildings associated with Mission Santa Fe were razed due primarily to vandalism which increased when World War I erupted The post office closed on July 16th 1954 because mail volume had decreased so much due technological advances such as radiofrequency identification mail sorting machines which made it possible for more efficient handling of large parcels without having them drop down out from an open manhole onto city streets On December 12th 1955 Kenneth Murchison became manager of Great Western Paper Company manufacturing paper products;[7] Murchison oversaw some significant changes at GWP including starting production at what is now known as El Sobrante plant where wirewrap sheets are still manufactured today using old methods dating back centuries ago

Today there are still some remnants of mining activity but most production has shifted to renewable resources such as solar power and wind energy which is estimated to be able to provide all America's electricity needs by 2045 without any new build projects!

Today, Coalinga is a small but vibrant community with a growing economy based largely on agriculture. The community is home to both public schools and private schools as well as many businesses including a grocery store, post office, bank, restaurant and health center.
