By 1986 both companies had closed down leaving just Sako Arms Manufacturing Company producing barrels and parts left over from both production lines stainless steel being used throughout while Browning Incorporated continued making guns but ceased production in 2000 having discontinued manufacturing completely by 1998 due primarily*to costs associated with 9x19mm ammunition restrictions placed on America during The Iraq War era*.
