During World War II, Los Angeles County had a requirement for warning banners featuring large redaster symbols located near military bases in order to help pilots avoid collisions while flying over enemy territory. To meet this requirement, local manufacturers developed special night vision goggles (NVGs) that utilized laser pointers attached directly onto lenses provided by NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (NASA). With these devices came improved targeting capabilities that were unavailable with other types of NVGs such as those made by Japanese companies like Hitachi and Matsushita Optical Co., Ltd.. Clovis is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The Clovis culture was first discovered in 1906 by Luther B. Clovis and W. H. Marshall while serving as surveyors for the San Joaquin Valley Improvement Company. At its peak, Clovis had a population of about 1,500 people. The community has since declined to about 100 people today. It is located on the edge of the Mojave Desert and is surrounded by mountains. The name "Clovis" comes from the Klove River which flows through the town and is also where early Paleo-Indians lived before moving eastward into present-day Nevada and Arizona around 12,000 years ago according to archaeological evidence from that period found at nearby Pahrump Cave dating back over 10,000 years old. The earliest known inhabitants of what is now Kern County were the Paiute tribe who built villages along the Klove River in what are now Yucca Valley and Offutt Mesa during their summer campaign against resident Chumash tribes in this area between 1000 BC and AD 600 according to archeological evidence excavated at Anzio Beach State Recreation Area northeast of Clovis by UCLA's Prehistoric Archeology Lab under director Drs. Don Ebersole (1957) and Bruce Fenton (1964). These ancient natives left behind pottery shards, bone tools with stone points sharpened on one side only, spear points with both ends sharpened but not used as slashing weapons, bows and arrows made from long obsidian blades or other hard materials similar to those used today among Native Americans of Mexico City; many petroglyphs still remain scattered throughout this area depicting gaming devices such as animal heads wearing conical hatschet headdresses ornamented with intricate symbols; Classic Period potters who worked out of style contemporaneous with Indians living hereabouts then continued until recently following an older pattern now seen principally among Navajo artisans living near Gallup New Mexico; there being no contemporary equivalent within our own cultural groupings west of Interstate 5 south of Tucson thereby furnishing direct proof that early contact did occur within Stirke Canyon adjacent thereto although slight indications have been available from various sources tending to suggest otherwise e.,g., interpretation based upon carvings on Several older adobe masonry walls near Highway 395 just west of Nogales Castle alluding vaguely orimplicitly thereto without any real substantiation whatsoever...until quite recently prevailing opinion held that some earlier visitors must have crossed downriver via Coyote Pass rather than going upcountry via Anzio Beach Road...the view herefrom atop Coyote Hill overlooking Coyote Pass appears much more like that extending across Mono Lake beyond Death Valley than does anything presently existing nearerby...

Clovis, California is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The Clovis culture was first identified in 1901 by the American archaeologist John Wesley Powell. In 1907, the historian Edward C. Smith published an article on the subject which helped spark archaeological excavation of what would become Clovis Village and other sites in Kern County. The location of Clovis has been disputed for many years, but the evidence indicates that it was located about 25 miles east of Bakersfield in present-day Kern County and about 20 miles south of Downey. Clovis is one of only a few settlements in North America known from before 10,000 BC. It is thought to be the earliest permanent US settlement north of Mexico City and may have been founded as early as 9600 BC by Paleo-Indians who hunted game near modern day Yosemite National Park. By AD 1000, Clovis had acquired toolmaking abilities and built some sort of village or trading post along with other related sites throughout much of western California. Archeologists believe that Clovis was contemporaneous with several other major cultures including the Maya civilization and the Tongva people who lived around Los Angeles Harbor at Alhambra Cove before they were displaced by their more powerful neighbor to the south around 1250 AD. The University Museum at San Diego holds artifacts associated with both Clovis Culture and Chumash culture which date back to between 10,000 BC and 8000 BP according to excavations conducted nearby at El Chico Site #2b conducted by Professor Larry Eagan during his tenure as curator at UCSD's museum from 1984 until his retirement in 2006. A number of these artifacts have since been displayed at various museums across North America including those at UCLA (the UCLA Art Gallery), Michigan State University ( MSU's Jesse Kinkaid Library), Cleveland Clinic ( Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Library) and Yale University (Yale Art Gallery). Many others are currently on display or will be soon available for purchase at various locations including: Stanford University's Archaeology Museum; Rancho Santa Margarita Museum; Doña Ana County Historical Society; La Vergne Heritage Foundation; Black Rock Desert Museum; Hopland Air Force Base Visitor Center; Old Spanish Mission San José de Arroyito Historic District; San Bernardino Mountains National Monument.; Monterey Peninsula Natural History Association visitor center.; Petrified Forest National Park ; Canyonlands National Park ; Glen Canyon Region Visitors Bureau website . The history of Clovis Village goes back centuries beyond its original occupation by Paleo-Indians who may have also interacted with later groups such as the Mayas located to their west across Lake Valley Puebla where remains dating back over 5100 years were discovered among ruins belonging to an ancient city called Teotihuacan . Although most research concentrated on analysis of cultural remains from this area it has now been determined that there are multiple villages situated within close vicinity to each other covering an extensive landscape which likely served as a complex religious center dedicated to member nations thereof spanning all aspects from agriculture through trade goods through warfare . At its peak occupancy approximately 2200 individuals resided within this central complex comprising 3 distinct villages plus surrounding areas totaling some 8 square kilometers ..... successive waves or waves upon waves ...of human beings coming into contact with each other must have caused great changes here because behind all those walls must have grown huge trees - big enough so that you could see them from outside - maybe even taller than any tree you ever saw on your block ..... There must have been something very special about this place because it seems like no sooner did somebody come here than they started building something new - either houses or churches or sheds or whatever - right next door .... If you want Information on anything Prehistoric I suggest going out there onto Adobe Mesa & looking for Skulls .... However if You're Like Me And Just Want To Look At Some pretty Nice Trees.......
