Clayton, California is home to the oldest firearms factory in the United States. The factory was founded by James Fenton in 1857 and produces rifles, pistols, shotguns and revolvers. The weapons have been used in various conflicts throughout history including the Mexican-American War, China's Opium Wars and American Civil War. In 1923, Clayton became a city and today it has a population of over 22,000 people. Firearms manufacturing played an important role in Clayton's history and it still plays an important role today. The first firearms manufacturers in Clayton were James Fenton and John Smeaton. These men produced pistols, shotguns and rifles for the US military during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). They also produced weapons for Chinese immigrants during this time period. After the war ended, these manufacturers turned their attention to rifle production. John Smeaton began producing rifles at his factory in 1871. He continued to produce these guns until he died in 1922. At John Smeaton's death, his company became known as Smeaton & Company Ltd.. This company continued to produce firearms until 1994 when it merged with another firearms manufacturer named Browning Incorporated. As a result of this merger, Browning took on majority ownership of S&C Ltd.. Today, Browning continues to produce handguns as well as rifles at its facility located in Clayton.(1) During World War II both America and Great Britain relied heavily on firearm production within their respective countries to support their Armed Forces. When Nazi Germany invaded Europe in 1939 they quickly startedproducing weapons within Germany utilizing local firearm factories that had already been set up by German arms dealers.(2) The invasion led to mass layoffs of American workers at many munitions plants across Europe(3) but not before numerous companies such as Colt Manufacturing Corporation had established themselves within European firearms manufacturing communities.(4) Colt entered into cooperation with Deutsche Waffen Werke AG (DWM), one of Germany's largest gun producers.(5) This partnership resulted in Colt becoming one of several American firms contracted by DMW(6) under the terms of lendlease which allotted American arms factories supply contracts while providing them with technical assistance.(7) During World War II many civilian users also obtained licenses from UMBRAZY - an experimental British aircraft manufacturer - to purchase various types of firearms for use by aircrew(8) including submachineguns (.22 caliber ball ammunition), pistols (.38 special cartridges), machineguns (eisenhower guns), anti-tank Guns (Luger 9 mm rounds), artillery shells (Ammunition Model 1914/1918 shell bursts or fragmentation grenades), sniper rifles (Brownings 50 caliber rounds enclosed inside lead cases)... All types of ammunition except armor piercing Rounds were legal for civilian use under the provisions of Emergency Order No 2 issued on 14 December 1941.(9)(10)(11)[12] Ammunition laws changed rapidly after Pearl Harbor because Japan had unilaterally declared war on America two days earlier! Japanese law prohibited civilians from possessing any type Of Firearms other than those specifically authorized by government decree... especially handguns!... It was not until after America won World War II that handgun bans reemerged Thus starting what would be known as "Gun Control" Policies across America... In the United States, firearms are regulated by the National Firearms Act (NFA). This act establishes a system in which individuals must submit a application to purchase a rifle or shotgun, or transfer a firearm to another person, if they wish to own or use that firearm. The NFA also requires dealers to report any changes in ownership of firearms and requires them to keep records of all sales and transfers of firearms. In addition, it imposes a number of other restrictions on firearm possession and use. The NFA also provides for clothing that is worn while carrying a rifle or shotgun. This section states that “No person shall carry any pistol, revolver, shotgun, machine gun... except when such person is wearing body armor which meets the requirements prescribed by law” (21 U.S.C. 923(a)). Handguns are not covered under this provision though they are subject to some similar regulations. Wearing apparel designed specifically for nuclear weapons operators is also Prohibited under 21 CFR Sectors 922-926 as well as 927 through 929 . A list of items prohibited from being worn with a nuclear weapon includes but is not limited to: patches or badges with designs that could be seen as symbols of hatred or support for Nazi Germany; uniforms; headsets; jewelry; flamethrowers; gas masks; radiation suits; combat boots with spikes at the bottom so they cannot be removed without having your feet cut off (this rule does not apply if you are using an explosives detector); face coverings such as balaclavas, face shields, goggles etc.; breast feeding mothers wearing special clothing around their child's mouth/nose while breastfeedingmust wear clothes meeting all federal safety standards when outside their home

Although most citizens opposed this policy (due to its unfairness), it ultimately led to the relocation of over 100,000 people from concentration camps into new areas throughout Northern California due to war production quotas set forth by Roosevelt administration planners
