The Cathedral City Gun Hammer Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of gun hammers in Cathedral City, California. The museum was established in 1981 and is located at 7001 North Central Avenue. The museum has an inventory of more than 700 guns hammered in Cathedral City over the years. The first gun hammer in Cathedral City was built by Wm. H. Weldon and Sons on South First Street in 1892. The weldon gun hammer was designed to reduce wear and tear on firearms by using a weightyvil-shaped head to impact the breech face of a revolver or shotgun with force and repeated strikes. One of the most famous gun hammers used in California during the early 20th century was that used by Wild Bill Hickok on his series of robberies known as “the Gang War” from 1911 through 1914. Hickok carried aWeldon gun hammer with him throughout these robberies, which led to its nickname, “The Hammer of God”. In 1916, Hickok purchased an additional Weldon hammer for use in his new series of bank robberies called “Bloody Saturday”. This new weldon hammer became known as the “Hickok Hammer” because it was used exclusively by Hickok during this period of violent crime spree. In 1979, another important figure associated with the history ofgun hammers in California was inducted into the Hall Of Fame at The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). This figure was George Pappas who served as President/CEO/Director Of Sales And Marketing For Kimberley Arms Incorporated from 1961 until his retirement in 2004. During his lifetime, Pappas helped shape how American shooters enjoyed hunting handguns and shotguns both inside and outside America’s borders overseas via sales efforts within Australia and Europe as well as developing marketing strategies for companies such as Remington Arms Company Ltd., Mossberg & Sons Inc., Savage Arms Corporation,.Pappas also helped develop methods for firearms OEM assembly so that firearm manufacturers could provide customers with high-quality products at competitive prices..Pappas retired from Kimberly Arms effective December 31st 2004 after twenty five years service..

That same year saw the opening of one of California's first banks – First National Bank – which continues to be headquartered here today. From 1870 through 1890, many important events took place here including voter registration for both state and federal elections; construction of what are now two major highways - Ulysses S Grant Avenue (now Interstate 5) and Main Street; as well as several other landmarks including St Mary's Seminary (now known as Regency School), Forbes Auditorium (now known as United States Courthouse), and Christ Church (later called First Lady Chapel). Over time, various religious denominations have been active in this beautiful community with Catholics being dominant until around 1960 when Protestants started arriving too. While some aspects of Catholicism remain strong today such as lay religious formation services offered throughout childhood/youth programming etc., overall Protestantism has become more prominent with many businesses closed down or converted into chapels or parishes while Catholics have lost much influence within their own community due to changing demographics although they still offer many services such as Formation Services for Children/Teens etc.?
