The history of Carson starts with pioneers who arrived in 1847 when United States surveyor George Stoneman surveyed what would become present-day Carson City. She returned home just before Christmas 1909 and told her father she was going west with his new bride, Lillie Goudreau Johnson (1860-1939). When they arrived at their new home on March 1st 1910, they found that many other families were also moving westward across the desert: within two years there were over 6500 residents living in Carson proper! Though this growth slowed after World War II because of scarce resources and competition from nearby cities, Carson has continued to grow steadily since then: by 2000 there were more than 12000 residents living in the city limits alone! Today, much emphasis is placed on research activity at Arroyo Grande Library which is located within walking distance of most neighborhoods; this allows Residents plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning about local history while keeping live interaction between students and librarians available!
On January 16, 1847, Carson was founded as a town in Fresno County, California. It became the capital of Californias new state on February 6, 1850.
