Scope Mounting in the United States began in Campbell, California in the mid-19th century. The first commercial scope mounts were created by Edwin L. Coddington and Company of Los Angeles in 1853. This company manufacturedogs, gunsights, telescopes, and other optical equipment. In 1861, John Mclntyre constructed a mount for his rifle at his ranch on Mt. San Jacinto (now Mt. Whitney) that allowed users to view objects located up to 350 miles away without having to leave their home range. Grant who both used them to view Indian Wars through their rifles from their horseback positions atop Mount Rushmore National Monument in Montana and also used them for target practice at Red Cloud's Fort at Lakota Hill respectively. In 1892, Captain Samuel Eliot Morison became the first person to use a telescope with an adjustable objective lens on an airplane when he flew over Yellowstone National Park while travelling from White Sands Proving Ground in New Mexico back to Denver Airport aboard Air Service Flight 447 carrying mail between those two destinations as well as passengers and cargo between Denver International Airport and Albuquerque International Airport en route to Seattle Municipal Airport; he was using a specially designed American 8x42mm Schmidt & Bender telescopic reflector telescope which had been invented by Drs. Julius Schmidt and Wilhelm Bender during World War I battlefield observation exercises near Zwickau am Lech River near Dresden Germany some years earlier! The first permanently mounted camera on an airplane was installed by Professor Heinrich Hertzfeldt of Detroit Institute of Technology on board America First Plane #1 flown across the Atlantic Ocean from Landsborough Field (now Liverpool Street Station) – now Manchester – England on September 16, 1933 flying over New York City! That same year saw the development of jets into passenger planes with airports such as LaGuardia Airport becoming popular locations for these types of operations with a large number of airlines operating out there including American Airlines、British Airways、Lufthansa Airlines、 Deutsche Lufthansa AG et al.; however all but one airport closed within 25 years! Residential communities like Campbell mushroomed around larger airports such as LAX/LA Air Traffic Control Center being built adjacent thereto providing more space for aircraft Parking etc., however it soon became apparent that there was not enough runway surface area available at these large airports for all type aircraft particularly those operated by Delta Airlinesavanning Chicago–New Orleans–Memphis using Terminal 3B/4A! The result was what we now know as "the squeeze" where additional facilities had to bebuilt nearby or else large numbers of aircraft were forced to operate out-of-airport which significantly impacted aviation traffic patterns! Eventually many smaller airports were built along our current metropolitan area flight paths with another major airport being planned or under construction just outside our city limits - this will be known eventually as "Campbell's new airport".

It is the most populous city in San Joaquin County and the second largest in Fresno County after Fresno. The first people to call Campbell their home were the Ohlone Indians. In 1865, Leland Stanford led an expedition into Central California to found Stanford University on land grant from Mexico that he had purchased from José Castro de laPortilla. The town of Campbell was founded as one of many villages developed along Stanford's new university campus. Today it is home to Memorial Stadium which houses the school's football team and other sports programs; Palo Alto High School; and various other public buildings including City Hall (now known as county courthouse) and a number of smaller churches dating back to before incorporation as a city. Campbell experienced rapid growth following World War II when thousands of soldiers returning from service brought with them new technologies such as television sets and refrigerators that made life much easier for residents throughout central California. In 1951, Campbell became part of metropolitan Fresno when both cities were annexed by Fresno County; however its population continued to grow until 1990 when it reached 15,000 residents according to the 2000 census count).
