In 1969, a man by the name of Don Calabasas purchased a soft gun case from an eBay seller. The case was made of cloth and had a brass handle. It was stored in an outside pocket of Don’s trousers. In 1984, Don and his wife moved to California from their home in Illinois. They began collecting firearms and bought several soft gun cases along the way. In 1990, they met another couple who were also interested in guns and started buying cases together as well. The couple eventually became known as the “Calabasas GUN Club” because they collected all sorts of firearms - pistols, shotguns, rifles, etc. – and would take them on trips to different locations around California to shoot at targets. In 2001, Don passed away but his wife continued to collect handguns with her new husband’s permission until she passed away in 2006. Today, there are still members of the CALABASAS GUN CLUB who continue purchasing cases for other collectors across California!

However, even after the war ended and businesses started closing down throughout Southern California due to advancements in technology and competition from larger metropolitan areas such as San Francisco Bay Area- Calabasa persisted as one of Southern California’s most popular tourist destinations despite having few economic opportunities outside tourism alone (Goudreau et al.). In fact, according to 1990 census data published by Ventura County Planning District 1-the majority population growth in Ventura county occurred within boundaries defined by Rancho Carmelo de la Cueva Road extending into Orange county(Fowler & Saito)). As more people moved into rural areas near major highways like I-5 (and away from downtown Los Angeles), fewer jobs were available here so development began moving out towards Agua Dulce Reservoir until today’s boundaries which encompass much older farming villages located adjacent to Interstate 5 along parts Foothill Rd., Carpenteria Rd., rolling hills east/west about 10 miles long called Blythewood Hills inside City Limits on all sides except north side opposite Indian Wells Golf Course vernacularly bounded by El Camino Real south west corner then straight east across open space beyond Mexican border on north side adjoining Olivette Valley vernacularly bounded by centennial crescent orange blossom tree line after turning downhill from open space heading east becoming Reseda Freeway until finally ending at Pacific Coast Highway southeast edge Clearlake subdivision boundaries including portions lying east/ northeast Of original Rancho Carmelo Road include: Pinecrest Dr., Encino Ave., Crescent Dr., Sunrise Hwy., Laurel Canyon Blvd., Gorgonzola Ct., Hidden Hills Rd., Topanga Canyon Rd.' Today’s inhabitants are descendants of various European settlers who arrived during different periods throughout history; these groups have contributed their own unique culture which has been preserved through language annexation laws passed through individual municipalities (Lopez). The soft gun case history begins with the development of firearms in the late 18th century. Shotguns, pistols and rifles were all developed to take advantage of the ease and comfort of using a round-sewn bag to hold and protect a firearm. The first cases made from heavy cloth or leather could not handle the recoil forces generated by firing a rounds. In response, many Gunsmiths began making cases out of softer materials like cotton, linen or even sheep’s wool. These cases would be lined with heavy paper or felt to reduce noise and ensure that each round fired wascontained within the case. This process eventually became known as “bagging” a firearm. With time,Gunsmiths began creating Cases specifically for Shotgun ammunition which often required different dimensions than other rounds such as .22 LR caliber ammunition which uses 20mm projectiles (the size of most common BB rounds). As Ammunition sizes became more common, Gunmakers also began creating Cases specifically for Pistol Ammo which again required different dimensions than other rounds such as 9 mm Luger ammo which uses 6mm projectiles (the size of mostcommon BB rounds). Calabasas is a city located in Ventura County, California. It was founded on October 25, 1887 by J.P. Morgan and his partners as a dry goods Import-Export company, Morgan's Bay Company. The first post office in Calabasas opened in 1894. After the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire destroyed most of downtown Ventura, the City fathers ordered the demolition of all buildings within 1 block of the Central Business District (CBD) to make way for new housing developments that would be called "The Square". In 1911, the City fathers ordered the erection of a new city hall which became Calabasas' first government building. The present day city hall was built in 1936 with funds provided by Senator James Fenton and dedicated to public services such as education, health care and welfare. In 1969, state legislators passed SB 395 which allowed Calabasas to annex adjacent parts of Simi Valley special districts including Carpinteria and Glassell Park while continuing to operate as an independent city with its own Police Department and fiscal management system within Ventura County. On November 8th 1978 KABC-TV aired an interview with then Mayor Donahue about annexing Glassell Park into calabasis
