In Burlingame, California there have been many shootings that have taken place over the years. Some of these shootings include: The 1935 murder of Harry Gibbs, a police officer in Burlingame; the 1967 shooting of Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, an American astronaut who was shot and killed by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas; and the 1997 shooting of Christopher Wray, a U.S. Secret Service agent in Burlingame. The535 shootings that took place in San Francisco County between 1849-2002 resulted in 93 deaths and 527 injuries (injury rate is highest among counties). In 2001 alone San Francisco County had a total of 444 homicides including 64 suicides and 248 homicides committed with firearms. These statistics reflect both the high volume of gun violence within this county as well as its propensity for it to occur. A study published in "Crime Research Quarterly" revealed that firearm fatalities are concentrated within certain socio-economic groups (i.e., low income individuals) while non-fatal gunshot wounds affect more affluent demographics (i.e., people over age 65). The study also found that firearm homicide rates vary significantly by year (for example, during periods when crime rates are lower), location (west coast versus east coast), race/ethnicity (white versus black residents), gender, educational attainment, and zip code size (>100,000 people). Despite these patterns across different locations throughout California, it is still difficult to determine why one community experiences more gun violence than another due to variations in gang activity or socioeconomic disparities between communities. However some possible explanations include factors such as geography which can influence crime rates and social structure which can influence gun ownership within a community. Another potential factor could be cultural differences insofar as how guns are seen within specific communities or cultures where owning firearms is not considered common practice or socially tolerated on certain levels

Chest protectors can also be made from many different materials, but they must be worn over the chest so that they do not touch your clothing or skin. They should fit snugly and protect against gunfire striking your chest cavity directly. Shoulder guards provide some level of defense around your upper arm in the event that gunfire enters through an opening in the guard, such as a gunstock or stocks on rifles. The protector should fit comfortably over the arm and connect at the shoulder with Velcro straps for continued attachment during movement. Each type of shooting protection has its own benefits and disadvantages which will depend on what style of firearm you are using it with: handguns, rifles, shotguns...the list goes on! At that time, women began working in large numbers in both law enforcement and militaries; consequently, they were at risk for being shot without warning or opportunity. Today there are many different types of shooting protection devices available onthe market; each with its own unique benefits and drawbacks. It is important that shooters understand how each device works so they can make informed decisions about which one will best protect them while they are engaging in their favorite activities!
The American Shooting Protection Association (ASPA) has a history of working to protect shooters and their firearms. In the early 1900s, ASPA partnered with the National Rifle Association in order to create a program that would provide protection for gun owners.
