There is a long and varied history of gun magazines in Burlingame, California. from the early days of firearms when cartridges were simply reloaded with old bullets to the present day with magazine-fed firearms becoming increasingly common. One of the earliest gun magazines in Burlingame was the Cavalry Armory, which opened in 1851. The Cavalry Armory was located on Portsmouth Street just east of Main Street. It served as a military armory and rifle range for local units during the 1850s and 1860s. The first magazine-fed firearm mentioned in local records was an 1855 model revolver made by Colt Firearms Company. This revolver had a barrel lengths of 3”, 6”, and 8”. The cylinder capacity was six rounds and it could be fired by loading three rounds into the chamber at once or one round at a time by turning the cocking handle back and forth until it released the fire button. During the late 1800s there were several stores that specialized inguns including: Naylor & Son’s Rifle Store on First Avenue near Hwy 101; Fenton Gunsmithing shop on Third Avenue near Mission Streets; Guralnick & Sons Sporting Goods store on First Street between Sacramento Road and San Pablo Road; Wesson Firearms store on Second Street between Masonic Drive and Grand Boulevard;and finally Cockerill Arms & Ammunition store on Fourth Street between Masonic Drive and Grant Road (later renamed J&L Gunsmithing). Each store carried different types of guns including shotguns, pistols, rifles, cannons, shotgun ammunition, etc. In 1901 there was also an ArmsMart located opposite Gualnick & Sons Sporting Goods store across First Street from Sacramento Road). At this time Guns & Ammo also became known as “Guns n' Ammo” because all their products were ammunition only! In 1903 an ammunition company named Winchester Ammunition company opened up shop adjacent to Armoury No 5 along Portsmouth street just north of Main St., now part of University Place Shopping mall (later renamed Winchester Center). At this time Winchester Ammunition began producing selfloading rifles such as Winchesters (the Model 1886), Remington 870/870 shotguns (the 1895 Express model), Ruger revolvers (the Model 922) .25 caliber pistols (.380ACP), muzzleloaders (.243Win.), Winfield ammo(the Cowboy Loader)and even some machineguns like the M1917 Enfield rifle! All these products would eventually become standard issue through most American armies throughout World War II! 2 years later another ammunition company called Brownell's introduced their own magazine fed firearm called the Brownell's Hi-Power Rifle Magazine Auto Pistol! This pistol featured a 10 inch Barrel with 20 Rounds Capacity!!! It came equipped with fiveround magazine which allowed you to fire up to 25 rounds without having to remove your weapon from service! These pistols quickly became popular among law enforcement agencies throughout North America due to their high firepower potential combined with easy disassembly for cleaning! In 1948 Brownells merged into Remington Arms Company but continued making both handguns and rifles under that name until 1979 when they merged intourface Thomson Reuters Corporation!!! Today Thurston Research Incorporated still makesBrownellsHi-PowerRifles under that brand name today

The history of Burlingame begins with Ohlone Indians who were living there before European contact. The first white people to live in what is now Burlingame were Spanish colonists who arrived in 1769. They named the area San José de los Ángeles after Saint Joseph, an apostle and founder of Christianity in what is now Mexico City. The town began as a small settlement on Pico Boulevard near today's intersection of Orchard and Scott Streets. A store and post office were built there in 1876, and it became a village in 1887 when it had a population of 150 residents. In 1906, during World War I, Burlingame joined the United States as part of California during the war effort because its salt works helped produce munitions for America's war efforts. The town continued to grow until it reached its peak with a population of over 200 residents in 1940. However, due to increased competition from nearby cities such as Oakland and Berkeley, Burlingame declined thereafter until 1990 when it regained its present size by amalgamating with neighboring towns Placer Valley and South Richmond Heights via annexation. Today, Burlingame offers an array of cultural attractions including an award-winning wine country appellation known for their Cabernet Sauvignon wines; art galleries and museums; lakeside restaurants; golf courses; tennis courts; donkey rides; playgrounds; Scout troops (the nearest troop has been moved to Livermore); plus more than 50 stores selling local products

In 1944, the US Navy constructed USS Constitution Pier in downtown Burlingame for naval sailors and their families to use while ashore. The pier remained an important part of the community until it was decommissioned in 1990.
