Goodrich and W. H. Fenton and today still operates from their original premises on Second Street in downtown Benicia. The club has two ranges, one for rifles and pistols and the other for shotguns. The first successful airgun was built by a man named George Stephenson in 1868 at hisitations house near Boston, Massachusetts. Benicia, California is a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. It is bordered by Hayward, Contra Costa and Napa Counties on the south and east, and State Route 12 on the north. The population was 35,651 as of 2016.
Benicia, California is located in the Central Valley of California, about 120 miles north of Sacramento. The city was founded in 1859 by American traders and miners who named it after Benicia Creek. In 1969, Benicia became the capital of the newly formed San Joaquin Valley. Today, Benicia is a bedroom community for Fresno and other nearby cities. It has a population of over 153,000 residents and covers an area of only 1 square mile. The first Europeans to visit Benicia were Spanish missionaries who traveled up the Benicia River in 1821-22. They named the creek after General Manuel de Obregón’s brother-in-law José de Benicio Herrera y Costilla (1784-1836), who had been made governor of Baja California during Mexico’s Revolution against Spain. From 1824 until his death in 1851, Herrera was also mayor of Los Angeles County. In 1865, American gold seekers discovered gold along the Sierra Nevada foothills east of San Francisco Bay and began to settle what would become Yosemite National Park. The new arrivals created several industries – livestockraising, smelting operations,ora mining – that continue to this day. Mining camps arose around Encinal and Wawona on either side of Highway 133 (now US 101). By 1870 most people had left the valley entirely because they found no gold or other valuable minerals there; wagon trains continued relay through Tehama County on their way back to Sacramento every weeknight until supplies arrived from elsewhere in Northern California via railroads beginning in 1875. During World War II many local farmers produced food for military purposes including aircraft production at Empire State Building; local citizens also raised money for Victory bond drives throughout the war years In 1969–1970 two major fires destroyed much of downtown San Joaquin Valley; as a result City Council decided that it would be more economical to move its government services into larger buildings eastward on Main Street near High School which now houses nearly all city government departments including Police Department etc In 1974–1975 Mayor Brown announced plans for a brand new city hall which would be situated on top of old school building at 5th street & Market Place

Benicia is a city in Contra Costa County, California. The population was 40,849 at the 2010 census. It has been called "The Venice of the West" and "the Silicon Valley of the East." Benicia was first settled by Spanish settlers in 1788. The city was founded on a site known as Rancho San Pablo de Benicia y Tejon, which became part of Contra Costa County when it was organized in 1873. The discovery of gold in 1848 led to increased arrivals and development in the area around Benicia. In 1868, an express wagon train carrying goods from Sacramento arrived at the town square; this event is remembered as the genesis of nearby Berkeley. On October 20, 1869, Ulysses S. Grant received his commission as United States Secretary of War from President Andrew Johnson at Fort Point on San Francisco Bay. This began what would be one continuous period of Democratic Party domination over much of California until 1986 when Republicans took control under Governor Pete Wilson's leadership. In 1912 Benicia annexed parts of Hercules and Pittsburg townships from Antioch Township to form a new municipality with a population increase to 25%. During World War II, many businesses were located within or close to Hangtown on Telegraph Road including Lockheed Aircraft Corporation (now Lockheed Martin), Western Electric Company (nowITT), Boeing Airplane Company (now Boeing), Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and other major employers that supplied munitions for war effort throughout Northern California. In recent years much redevelopment has occurred within downtown Benicia with mixed use projects such as housing developments like Park Meadows and Northwood Village while also developing retail space along Elm Street near Main Street with restaurants such as Amazon Restaurants and Starbucks moving into former industrial buildings dating back to the late 1800s/early 1900s near Interstate 80
Benicia was founded in 1847 by José Joaquín de Elizondo and wife Maria Luisa Bautista. It became a city on April 4, 1857. The first post office opened in Benicia on March 9, 1857.
