Aline was born into a wealthy French aristocratic family in 1848, and she soon became associated with various philanthropic endeavors. In 1873, she founded L’Auberge du Lac (The House at the Lake), which provided lodging for homeless men and women in downtown Los Angeles. After her death in 1922, her husband continued to provide support for the institution until his death in 1957. In 1975, GeorgeBelmont Memorial Park was established in his honor along with another park located adjacent to L’Auberge du Lac - both are still used today as functions complementing each other's purposes. Additionally, throughout Central California there are numerous roadside billboards that list Belmont as an incorporated town or village – this moniker is not simply honorary but typically refers to properties within town boundaries that have been sold by the Belmont family since 1945.

Belmont is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. It is bordered by the cities of Riverside and San Bernardino to the north, east, and south; Poway to the west; and Fontana to the northwest. The first Europeans to visit what is now Belmont were Spanish traders who passed through during their travels between missions in 1819-20. Mexican traders also visited this area in subsequent years but no permanent settlement occurred until 1853 when three men - George Patton, Jesse Hinton and John Cranch - purchased land including what is now Belmont from Mission Santa Clara de Asís for $1 million dollars. On July 5, 1854, General Antonio López y Pacheco took possession of Rancho Rinconada which included present day Belmont when he discovered it lying within Spanish territory as part of an effort to win over Native Americans who had resisted his forces at Mission San Gabriel on almonds. The town was founded on October 10, 1854 by five citizens: James Fenton (founder of Fenton's grocery store), Wm. Burchfield (of Burchfield & Whitney flour merchants fame), Jno. Mapes (a blacksmith and wagon maker), Chas Snyders ( postmaster) and Amedee Laprade (of a sugar refinery). The first school in Belmont was built on North Main Street near where Present-day Hwy 101 crosses it today as William King Elementary School in 1865/66 with six students enrolled in grades one through four while two teachers taught high school classes out of house hours through 1870/71 when that building became an chemistry laboratory under Drs John Sims and Lewis Nourse then moved into its current location across Hwy 101 after they bought it from Drs Sims and Nourse in 1893/94 In 1896–97 there were ten students enrolling at King because new buildings wereNOT being constructed on North Main Street so Mrs Geo McKenzie organized a bake sale for her children’s Christmas gifts which raised money for school supplies . In 1903 Bishop McNaught dedicated Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish Church which seated 400 people . Classes began September 1st with Drummond brothers teaching first grade then went up each year until 1912 when all grade levels started together with Mr Hermann vocational training providing instruction in typewriting machine repair etc . In 1922 Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish closed due to financial difficulties however services continued until 1955 using rented space next door from Our Lady’s Chapel inside MacArthur High School Administration Building In 1954 Reverend Robert Walthall became rector after serving as pastor at St Joseph’s Cathedral parish located just east of downtown Los Angeles until his retirement effective December 31st 1959 He was succeeded by Rev Edward Teller whose dedication service took place February 17th 1960 Rev Edward Teller served as interim rector until Reverend Arthur Bowen arrived who assumed office November 3rd 1961 After serving two terms Reverend Bowen retired effective December 31st 1965 leaving Rev Arthur Bowen acting administrator Until January 1966 when Reverend Donald Gentry succeeded him Thereafter church functions revolved around rectory office with occasional special events taking place at other facilities
