Belmont, California is a small town located in San Bernardino County, California. It is adjacent to Riverside County and has a population of just over 10,000 people. The area where Belmont sits was first settled by the Kumeyaay People in 1776. In 1849, the community was founded as part of the Rancho San Bernardino Mission group. In 1906, the community became an incorporated town. The original name for Belmont was "Bald Mountain." In 1923, it changed its name to "Belmont" after General John Pershing's visit to the town. The history of BB guns began in Belmont when two brothers named George and Harry developed a simple BB gun at their home in 1922. This early model BB gun used lead pellets that were fired from a shotgun shell launcher. The brothers sold these guns commercially until they relocated to Reno, Nevada in 1925 and introduced their new design there called the Browning Hi-Power Rifle which became popular with hunters and target shooters throughout America. As a result of this demand, manufacturers started producing handguns chambered for .380 calibers such as Walther PPKs and Ruger GP100s specifically designed for law enforcement use on tight quarters or during hostage situations where speed and accuracy are essential factors. With this increasing market demand came also an increase in production costs associated with makingacht handguns typically incorporating expensive forgings (metal) into plastic frames making them more difficult to fire than traditional revolvers chambered for other calibers such as .22 LR or 9mm Parabellum! The town's economy has always been based on agriculture with some manufacturing also present during certain periods such as the early 1900s when local farmers produced cheese for local markets and later when Belmont became an important produce market for the Bay Area. Today there are many businesses in Belmont that cater to all aspects of their customers lives from health food stores to restaurant chains such as Subway and Wendy's logistical services which include delivering food directly to homes or businesses throughout Silicon Valley Today many people still live within walking distance of their workplaces whether they be located at Apple Inc., Google Inc., Northrop Grumman Corporation or SanDisk Corporation in addition to numerous churches which are integral parts of cultural life in this small town . There are also several golf courses located within easy reach including one owned by AT&T (formerly BellSouth) whose course borders Belmont on one side while Menlo Park falls into adjacent Santa Clara County

It is located on the eastern edge of the San Francisco Peninsula, bordered by Walnut Creek to the north and east, Redwood City to the south and west, and Menlo Park to the northwest. The name "Belmont" was given to it by Major George Belknap shortly after its founding in 1853 as a small settlement near what is now Fremont. Belmont grew rapidly during World War II due to its military status as an airfield and naval base. In 1958, it became one of only two cities in California (the other being Oakland) that elected non-partisan officials without having any political party affiliation. The city has also been known for its annual Strawberry Festival which takes place over several weeks in late July or early August.
Belmont was founded in 1851 by George Belmont and his brother, Lorenzo. The Belmont family became a vaudeville dynasty, working their way up the entertainment ladder over the next several decades. In 1902, they bought the rights to a new baseball team called the Athletics and moved them to Oakland, California. The city of Oakland renamed itself Berkeley in their honor in 1903. In 1905, George Belmont died at age 82 while still president of the Athletics. His son Lorenzo took over as president and general manager of the team until his death in 1915. After Lorenzo's death, management passed briefly to his nephew Maurice Alexander then finally Toe Blakemore before being taken over again by secretary-treasurer Frank Jaffe on October 1, 1928. Blakemore resigned after only one season due to health troubles; he was replaced by assistant secretary-treasurer Harry Wilkinson who lasted for three seasons before quitting also citing health concerns. On May 15, 1933 John Leland became acting general manager with responsibility for scheduling and player personnel under Wilkinson's direction; however he resigned two days later when it was announced that Willis Hahn would succeed him as permanent boss on July 1. Hahn would stay with the organization until its sale to Anaconda Copper Mines Corporation in 1947 which renamed it the Athletics (now known asOakland A's)
