The purpose of KCEES was to improve agriculture through research and experimentation. Over time, KCEES became affiliated with various universities including UC Berkeley and UCLA. Today, KCEES remains a resource for researchers within Kern County as well as statewide. One of the first things that KCEES did when they arrived in Bellflower was plant some bells from a white labrador retriever named Bella which they named after then-Governor Hiram Johnson's favorite pet dog Golden Retriever Bella (now deceased). After planting those bell plants, their next task was to find someone who could make them ringing! Unfortunately for them at first it wasn't too easy - all anyone wanted to do was take pictures with their new bells! However over time people got more interested so eventually they managed to get somebody who could make them ring properly! Eventually there were so manybells being made that they had to move out of their original location into a larger building which still stands today on Main Street between Soquel Avenue and Old Mill Road. There are now two buildings on Main Street - one used for administration offices and another used as a museum/gallery where you can see examples of early bellmaking techniques along with interesting artifacts from back when Bellflower was an important center for bell making!

Bellflower is a small town located in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Bellflower" comes from the Bell family which settled in what is now Bellflower in 1852. The first post office in Bellflower opened on April 16, 1854. The community was named for John A. Bell, who donated land to the town and also served as its first mayor. In 1868, a bell-shaped water well was drilled near present-day Center Street and High Street and it became known as "The Well of Peace." In 1902, local schoolteacher Mrs. Anna Hahn founded the first girls' high school in California with $4 given by her husband Julius Hahn (1860-1934). Mrs. Hahn served as head teacher until her death in 1924; then two women taught for one year each before merging into one school system under the name Mrs. Anna Hahn School District No. 1A which continued until 1959 when it merged into Kern Unified School District No. 1A On December 6, 1927 (a date still celebrated annually), Lillian Gaddis Bullock married Dr., Edwin Crippen (1865-1945) at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in downtown Bellflower; they were both natives of New York City where she had been born three years earlier to parents who were Irish immigrants working as actors on Broadway.Bullock Papers Dr.(Edwin) Crippen had come to Los Angeles from New York City to become an orthopedic surgeon and ranch owner after serving with distinction during World War I as captain of an ambulance unit with American Expeditionary Force commanding general Pershing's First Army.Crippen Family Papers They lived together until his death less than two weeks later on December 12th 1945 at age 73.

After his death she continued living with her son Charles Eilers Bullock III who ran their ranch along Center Street until their sale to developer Harry Redford in 1958 and their move away from residential property along Center Street[Redford papers] Some residents continue traditions like playing catch behind old barns or using recycled materials such as glass bottles for windowsill seats even though Vista landfill provides more environmentally friendly options nowadays.
