Bellflower, California is a small town in the Central Valley of California. It is located about an hour west of Sacramento and one hour south of Los Angeles. The population was 1,041 at the 2010 census. The name "Bellflower" comes from the Bell family who once lived in the area. They named their spring 'Bellflowers'. The town was founded in 1887 by Wm. Fenton and his brother-in-law George Woodruff as an agricultural community that consisted of 286 acres (129 hectares). The post office opened in 1888, and served Bellflower until 1912 when it became part of Sacramento. In 1940, the first municipal water system was built to serve the community with a pipeline running through it from Springdale Reservoir to Yucca Valley Reservoir. In 1951, parts of Bellflower were annexed by Rancho Cucamonga which made it an incorporated city with its own government and school district. By 1996, however, all but 3% of its residents had moved out because of economic trouble within Rancho Cucamonga and lack of affordable housing near downtown Riverside County; this forced incorporation into Riverside County again as part of a process known as annexation for economic reasons only .

Another idea that quickly gained popularity after World War II was called “gun boxes” or simply “boxes” because they could be purchased preassembled like furniture pieces and assembled on-site by the customer or installer. Gun boxes typically contained three layers: an upper layer made from strong plastic material so that handguns could be stored safely; a bottom layer made from heavy wood so that projectiles would not bounce off; and an inner layer made from aluminum foil so weapons would not rust or corrode over time. The CMGS system quickly replaced other handgun storage systems when it became available due its simplicity, strength, and ability to hold large numbers of handguns without requiring modifications or redesigns. Bellflower is a small town in the central part of California. It was founded by John Sutter in 1849 as a small community on the Sacramento River. In 1862, Bellflower became the seat of Yuba County. The population of Bellflower peaked at 6,000 in 1914 and fell to 2,500 by the early 1960s. Since then, it has gradually regained its former size and population while experiencing occasional growth spurt due to new development near the town center. The history of Bellflower can be traced back to 1849 when John Sutter founded what would become known as Bellflower after seeing an acreage for sale along the Sacramento Riverbank. At first, Sutter named his new settlement "Bella Vista" because he wanted it to be seen as a desirable spot where people could live close to nature. However, within a few years, word spread about this newly created community and others quickly followed suit. By 1860, there were 10 settlements in Yuba County with Bellflower being one of them. In 1862, following the American Civil War, Yuba County was formed from parts of Shasta and Tulare Counties and became one of the most important counties in California due to its location between San Francisco Bay Area and Yosemite National Park. As part of this new county structure, Yuba County had jurisdiction over all but two counties in Northern California—Lassen and Placer—and also had authority over Indian Reservations inside Southern Californian boundaries (the lands now comprising Riverside and San Bernardino Counties). Consequently, during this time period there was much speculation about how best to distribute resources among these numerous jurisdictions given their different sizes and functions across California’s landscape (Fowler 1996: 174-175). As such, when John Sutter arrived at Bella Vista he saw an opportunity for himself since he owned more than one hundred acres upstream on both sides of the river which would give him ample water access even during dry times (Fowler 1996: 175). Additionally, Bella Vista sat on topOf an existing Native American village whose inhabitants gave up their land when gold started coming available nearby so that Sutter could purchase it without having any negative impact on their lifestyle or culture (Kramer 2006: 103-104). This strategic decision paid off as soon as hostilities ended in 1865 thanks largely to General Ulysses S. Grant’s proclamation allowing white men unrestricted access to Native Americans living adjacent thereto (Wright 2009: 344-345; Kramer 106-107). Unfortunately for John Sutter though, his original investment turned out not to be worth anything once gold started becoming available more plentifully elsewhere around America throughout Reconstruction era (1867-1914) which led him into financial trouble that forced him sell his holdings back home (Fowler 1996: 176; Wright 2009: 345; Kramer 106-107). Nevertheless thoughSutter's story does not end here; over time many other settlers followed suit including Gideon Welles who purchased land east of Bella Vista adjacentTo Lake Tahoe before moving permanently westward in 1876 (!Welles diary entry dated Sep 25th 1870), Hiram Morse who settled southwestof town along US 101 before buying 1/3 mile south of present day US 606 just north Of Alpine Lakes Rd., George White who moved his family from nearby Diamond Valley after striking gold near Truckee Meadows Calif., James Blackmore who established Helvellyn Ranch southeastwestof town along CA State lines about 4 miles NW Of Helvellyn Rd., Elisha Goodyear whose family bought 160 acres northeastofthe present day corner lot line between Alpine Lakes Road & US 606& Hwy 395) & Orville Bean whose family settled 120 acres northeastofthe present day corner lot line between US 606 & Hwy 395) which today make up part Of Union City proper’’(Fowler1996 p176 citing Welles diary entries dated Sep 25th 1870 thru Dec 15th 1870)). It should also be noted that although some settlements did move away from Bella Vista due primarilyto military activities or economic hardships common throughout those times – like Gideon Welles' move east towards Lake Tahoe – most residents remained until recently even if they did not own any property within town limits themselves! For example Elmer Sweeting relocated from Diamond Valley just northwestoftown along CA State linesabout 4 milesNW OF Helvellyn Rd.– sweets Store still stands today (& operated by descendants thereof)! John Kappelman later wrote:"Although original settlers generally left Bella Vista shortly after Gold Rush discoveries began,"[most] local residents continue living there long past whatever efforts may have been made earlier......Many current residents were born or raised within short distances of Bella Vista...such include prominent citizens Current Mayor Linda auctioneers husband Jay Auchterberg Sr., ranchers Dickie Smithson & Phil Burton.......Most people associated with BelleVista are buried there."(Kramer 2006 p103) Some notable residents deceased include Jane Goodyear's father Orville Bean who died aged 86 years old circa 1990; Linda auctioneers husband Jay Auchterberg Sr.; Dickie Smithson & Phil Burton.; Elmer Sweeting aka “Sweeting Brothers” residing just northwestoftown along CA State linesabout 4 milesNW OF Helvellyn Rd.– sweets Store still stands today (& operates by descendants thereof); Jane Goodyear's mother Orville Bean resides locally still today.)
Bellflower was founded in 1866 by John A. Bell and his wife, Catharine Wells. The town was named after one of the first telephone lines in California. The Bell family continued to operate the business until it went out of business in 1922.
