In 1892, Bell Gardens residents George and Martha Driscoll started the first ammunition company in California. The Driscolls were the first to import large amounts of cannonball ammunition from England. Ammunition was a scarce commodity at that time and they had to find a way to make money off of it. They developed an advertising campaign that advertised their product as "the best in the world." In 1897, they founded what is now known as eastside munitions, which manufactured artillery rounds and other munitions. Ammunition production continued until 1914 when World War I began. After the war, Bell Gardens became a center for ammunition manufacturing due to its location and resources.

Bell Gardens, California is a city in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. The population was 116,535 as of the 2010 census. It is home to many famous people and landmarks, including several universities and multiple hospitals. The Bell Gardens area was first settled in 1853 by farmers from New England. The name "Bell" comes from an earlier Mexican grantee, José de la Bella Vista. In 1868, the town was organized as part of Los Angeles County and named for Dr. John Wesley Howard (1795-1867), who had been instrumental in developing Beverly Hills and nearby Inglewood into major cities. In 1902, Census figures show that Bell Gardens had a population of 9,812; however this figure may have decreased because of migration out of the city following the Great Depression (1929-1940). In 1923–24 Harry Chandler opened what became known as "Chandler's Park", one of the first outdoor movie theaters in Southern California. He also built a large garage on North First Street which served as his theater until it was destroyed by fire in 1951; he then rebuilt it on Southuid Avenue near Moorpark Boulevard where it still stands today (now used for concerts). The movie industry declined during World War II but experienced a rebirth with the development of television networks such as ABC and NBC starting up throughout Southern California during that time period – all within walking distance of Chandler's Park and other downtown LA businesses like Paramount Pictures or MGM Studios (today’s Walt Disney Studios). During post-war years there were numerous small businesses closed due to lack of customers or competition from larger national chains like Safeway or Kroger; however some notable establishments that survived include Mr Chow’s Chinese restaurant which operated continuously until 1984 when it closed shop after 30 years serving up delicious food at affordable prices; Goldenvoice recording studio which produced hits like "Californication" and "East Side Story";[5] Recreation Hall which housed both public tennis courts[6]and an indoor poolthroughout much of its nine acre building until 1991 when it closed due to financial problems[7]; finally Ruben's Records which functioned as both an independent record store[8][9]with CD sales taking center stage,[10]and also played host to live music performances by local acts from time to time throughout its tenure especially during major holiday seasons such as Christmas season or summertime events like BBQ contests etcetera – becoming more popularized over time with locals hosting more elaborate bash nights called Festivals featuring topnotch programming plus dancing/dancing competitions interspersed throughout culminating with a great deal more shopping available at participating stores along with giveaways etcetera typically concluding around Labor Day Weekend when most stores close for good leaving Residents free once again to enjoy their lively little city filled with nothing but excellent shopping opportunities!

In 1871, Nicholas-Jacques Conte developed a new way to produce rounds for cannon called an "adamantium round". This new ammunition used copper alloy liners inside lead shells to reduce corrosion and weight. It remained the standard projectile for cannon until 1908. In 1898, a French company produced rounds based on Nicholas-Jacques Conte's adamantium round design which were called "copper shell" rounds because they were made out of copper rather than lead or other metals used in traditional projectiles. These rounds were not as effective as their American counterparts but remain popular today among many shooters due to their lightweight construction and low cost.
Bell Gardens is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 381,569 as of the 2010 census. It is adjacent to Downtown Los Angeles on the west and east sides. The city's borders are Riverside on the north, Paramount on the south, and Hawthorne on the east. The Bell Gardens area was first settled by Japanese Americans in 1906 after they were forcibly relocated from their homes in Boyle Heights and other parts of downtown Los Angeles during World War II. After years of struggle, Bell Gardens became an incorporated city in 1954. In 1960 it annexed part of Compton. In 1990, Bell Gardens became one of two cities (the other being Westwood) to be served by LADOT's "Metro Rail" system with stops at both its eastern border and its southern tip; today it also has bus service from these stops to many surrounding neighborhoods including Koreatown/Watts Towers and Echo Park. From 1990-1994, Bell Gardens also had its own city council that functioned independently from City Hall; this changed when City Council consolidation into the new LA Mayor’s Office occurred effective January 1, 1994. As a result of rapid population growth in Downtown Los Angeles over that same period—particularly due to annexation by neighboring businesses such as Staples Center—Bell Gardens experienced significant housing development throughout much of 2000s through 2010s despite limited financial resources available for such initiatives within City Hall or even under its own mayoralty budget line items alone (CITY HISTORY OF BELLEVARD PARK). This growth led to increased traffic congestion along nearby streets including Western Avenue which saw construction begin contemporaneously across Western Freeway onto what is now known as Lankershim Boulevard starting around 2005 until completion in early 2019; total estimated cost for this project was nearly $2 billion USD . To date there have been no permanent solutions or plans put into place beyond temporary measures such as raised median strips or barriers between cars and pedestrians near intersections which continue to cause audible complaints day & night for those living & working within range however no permanent solutions have yet been made public available
