In 1933-34, construction began on an addition to the old Blossomfield Elementary School which became known as Municipal Court Annex #1 because it housed courtrooms for both Pasadena and Baldwin Park governments at that time. In 1945-46, during World War II when military housing projects were being developed throughout Southern California, some people moved into what is now Baldwin Park from other areas of Southern California to live near military installations such as Fort MacArthur or Point Loma Santa Anita – this included many young men drafted into service during World War II who had no choice but to move away from their homes east of Los Angeles due to air raids that struck southern California regularly during those years. Some residents who remained after war ended found themselves unsuccessfully trying to revive businesses abandoned in post-war America; however they did manage to build up a nucleus of community members who pooled their resources (including money they had saved) to purchase property along Vista del Mar Boulevard between Cahuenga Boulevard and Monterey Road in 1948 which became known as Eastside Village – home to many low income families until it was taken over by developers in the late 1990s when new homes started being built there more than 20 miles away from Santa Monica Mountains where Eastside Village once stood

Baldwin Park is a city in San Diego County, California. The population was 24,711 at the 2010 census. Baldwin Park was founded on November 5, 1887 by brothers Charles and Hiram Baldwin as a small farming community located in what is now the east side of downtown San Diego. In 1916, the city annexed part of southern San Bernardino County and renamed itself to honor George Washington Baldwin, father of Charles and Hiram Baldwin. The city's first store opened in 1888 on Third Street between Euclid Avenue and Market Street. The business closed in 1893 afterCharles Baldwin sold his share of the business to his brother Hiram. A new store opened on First Street between Buchanan Boulevard and Market Street in 1896. The store closed again in 1902 when Charles Baldwin died suddenly from tuberculosis. In 1916, the City Council voted to annex part of southern San Bernardino County which would give the city more land for development purposes. The annexation was ratified by voters on November 3rd.. At that time, it was thought that this annexation would make it easier for people living outside of town to get access to services such as water or sewer service. However, this proved not to be the case; instead, residents have had to pay an extra fee each year for services they once received free from their county counterparts. The first block of homes built in Baldwin Park were designed by architect Alfred Bache and builder John Waddell Heintzelman who also built many other homes during this time period including ones now located at 110th Ave SE & Broadway SE
