Furthermore, through Forrester Properties Inc.'s acquisitions many small businesses opened up throughout downtown giving residents more choices about where they could shop without having too much competition (Mosesberg). After 1945 things started unraveling again as war veterans began moving back into town limits while young families moved out looking for better opportunities than what they experienced back home (Fowler). This trend continued until present day when there are very few people living within walking distance of any University or cultural institution making life increasingly expensive without much change happening in terms of lifestyle or economic opportunity
