For many years Avenal had no water supply; however, word came from Western Electric Co., which controlled water rights for Inyo County that they were about to build a new transmission line across the county and needed to have water delivered to their property so that staff could plant trees for electricity production purposes! So locals pitched in with buckets and hoses to deliver potable water directly into general use rather than going through city hall or western electric company headquarters where it would be stored until needed again! This collaboration continues today with 22 volunteers delivering fresh drinking water every day from two well sites just outside of town!

Valentine Field at Golden Gate Park near where he once played baseball for the East Side Eagles (now known as the Bay Bears).
