Dr. George Atwater also developed an automatic safety system for his guns which would prevent them from being fired if someone else got hold of them! He also invented what is now known as an early form of handgun ammunition – BBs (bore Bullets). BBs were originally used as targets but later became common ammunition due to their accuracy and low recoil! In 1918 Captain John Averill died suddenly while serving in World War I; this left Dr. George Atwater with ownership of all his patents pertaining to firearms development and action (excepting Patents 913 & 914). However, Captain John Averill's widow continued development work on her husband's guns under her own name until her death in 1951! It should be noted that both DrGeorge Atwater and MrsAverill had some involvement in developing almost all modern-day firearms including .380 ACP pistols! Imbued leather cased revolvers manufactured by S&W Arms Co., Inc., beginning 1935 were one result of research conducted at Ransom- African American Museum by Edwin Cushing during 1934-1935
