Gun barrels have a long and varied history in Atascadero, California. Some of the earliest guns that were made here include the 1853 Winchester rifle, which was a breech-loading rifle that used cartridges for shooting. Other early firearms such as this included handguns and shotguns. By 1863, gun barrels were becoming more common here because they helped to help with range practice. In that year, Atascadero became the first incorporated town in California and began to purchase arms from Spain. This has led togun barrel production continuing here until present day. One of the most famous gun barrel manufacturers in Atascadero is Barnes Bullets Inc., which has been making ammunition for firearms since 1892. The company is responsible for creating many iconic firearm rounds such as the .357 Magnum and 9mm Parabellum pistol rounds. during its time, Barnes Bullets has also manufactured rifles including both American editions of the AK47 and RAMRifle series sniper rifles.

Atascadero is an incorporated town in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. The population was 3,500 at the 2010 census. It is located on the northern coast of Santa Barbara County. Atascadero's name comes from a Spanish word meaning "oasis". The first Europeans to visit Atascadero were Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and his brother Alonso de Alvarado who sailed up the California coast in 1542 looking for a passage to India. They found nothing but hostile Coast Miwok Indians and returned home without exploring any further. In 1777, José Narváez discovered Baja California while sailing south along the US-Mexico border. He named it after Atascadero, his hometown in Aragon, Spain where he had been born in 1699. On July 14, 1821, Mexican nationalsmarted Mexican independence by storming Ushant Island off the coast of Monterey Peninsula; they burned everything on shore and pillaged what they could find before setting sail for Mexico City with only 12 men including Narváez left behind (the rest died en route). In honor of their act of rebellion against Mexico, AtascadERO Road was named after them: La Navidad de la Guerra (Christmas Day of War). The town began as a small farming community with about 100 residents in 1871 when pioneer Captain John Sutter arrived from Northern California looking for land to farm near Yuma Desert Air Field which he had recently founded as part of his efforts to open up new areas for white settlement in central southern California following years of effort by Governor Manuel Nieto to keep Anglo settlers out of central Arizona and southern Sonora during the Porfiriato period (1873-1911). Captain Sutter thought that if he could get grantees rights from then governor so that he could sell them agricultural land eastward into what is now Southern California it would be easier to control over these lands than try to build roads or mines through rugged terrain across Central Arizona desert where there were no grants available. For many years thereafter until World War II much Of today's atascadorismo came down largely due do military use such as training airfields here during World War II(Area code 917) providing fuel storage facilities etc... Today there are several dozen businesses scattered throughout downtown area most notably: Antiques Mall which opened sometime around 1979 features numerous antiques dealers/mulchers along one side nearly doubling as a large department store; El Centro which reopened its doors this past year - smack dab next door at once largest mall on Santa Barbara County has anchor stores Toys R Us(anchor store since 2006), JCPenney(anchor store since 1984), Sears(anchor store since 1978), Macy’s(anchor store since 1954) all within easy walking distance; major league baseball team Padres playing their home games at ball park just outside city limits mostly adjacent streetscape style housing developments built some time ago by various developers either close by or directly adjacent if riverfront property owner willing/able vistas restored should baseball team ever leave city limits again?
