In 1951, when Kingsbury Elementary School burned down after being improperly heated by students using unheated pencils during lunchtime,[1] one of local high school's most famous moments occurred; prior to this event many students at Kingsbury had taken their anger out on one another through various forms of vandalism.[2] In 1957, an Artsian Lions Club project constructing two new schools was completed; these schools would be known collectively as Chavez Middle School & Hansen High School after their respective building owners – Mr./Mrs. Maurice Hansen and Mrs./Msgr., Mrs.(Edith?) Chavez – respectively。 These three elementary schools are still used today as part of Anson Valley Unified School District’s curriculum offerings: Chavez Middle School is currently used for grades 7-8 while Hansen High School is currently used for grades 9-10.;[3][4][5] following this project configuration change some other former ChavezMiddleClassHighSchool property became available for use such as Anson Valley Recreation Center which opened in early 2009[6][7] .
