Gun targets have been a part of the history of Arroyo Grande for many years. The first target to be erected in this community was a blacksmith’s shop. A group of local boys decided to erect a post with an iron ball andcushion at the corner of Main and Second Streets in 1892. The first rifle range opened in 1907, and by 1914 it had become one of the largest such ranges in Los Angeles County. Today, Arroyo Grande has its own gun range, as well as several other Shooting Clubs and Archery clinics which offer lessons to all ages and levels. One of the earliest handguns used in California was the shotgun called “the Peacemaker”. This weapon was invented by Enos Mills on December 12, 1836 while he was working for Captain John Brougham at Rancho San Bernardino just south of Guerneville (now Redlands). Mills designed this weapon to shoot paper cartridges instead of lead balls which made it more accurate than earlier shotguns. The Peacemaker quickly replaced the Shotgun as the main handgun used by Americans during their Mexican-American War campaigns against Mexican bandits and outlaws operating out of nearby Chihuahua Province

It started when a group of Mexicans in the town came across some guns in a store and decided to take them back to their home. However, a group of Englishmen who were also living in Arroyo Grande decided to shoot at the Mexican immigrants. The Englishmen were successful and killed several people including one of the Mexicans who took the weapons back to his house.

Today, many people refer to this area simply as “the valley,” which reflects its long history as a crossroads for trade and transportation between Mexico and North America. During his presidency, Donald Trump has made a priority out of improving infrastructure in the Arroyo Grande Valley including getting rid of bad roads and increasing access to affordable housing developments. He also plans on renovating military bases in the area so they can be used more efficiently for civilian purposes instead of hosting large numbers of troops year-round

Arroyo Grande is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is located in the San Joaquin Valley. The town was founded by Spanish settlers in 1848, and named for the Arroyo Grande River. The first post office opened in 1850, and the first store was built in 1854. In 1896, Arroyo Grande incorporated as a city. The city was renamed for then-Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2002. The townsite that now includes Arroyo Grande was part of Rancho San Luis Rey de Baja (later known as Rancho La Mesa) which encompassed much of what is now Kern County and parts of Tulare County today. This ranch passed from father to son until it came into public ownership by John Purdy during the Mexican–American War when he took over cattle grazing on it from Colonel Manuel Nieto y Ocampos and donated it to the State of California under English law as part of Treaty 8 (1846). Purdy had originally come to this area with his family in 1847 on horseback looking for land grants after completing surveys for inclusion on Mission Santa RosaFIRST Baptist Church erected on December 6th 1847 - continued construction started January 17th & has been going continuously since then! The Arroyo Grande Massacre took place on November 15, 1846, when a group of Hispanic soldiers, led by Captain Manuel Gomez, massacred more than sixty Native Americans who had gathered toOOK at the mouth of the Arroyo Grande River in present-day Arroyo Grande, California. The massacre was part of a wider conflict between Californios and Natives that continued for years.
