Arcadia is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The population was 9,521 at the 2000 census. It is located about 25 miles north of Fresno and about 30 miles south of Stockton. The first soft gun case history in Arcadia was made by Wm. H. Pritchard in 1876 when he started making cases for shotguns from an old adobe building near the present day intersection of State Route 97 and County Route 99 known as "Pritchard's Shop." Most likely this building still stands today and can be found on the east side of SR 97 just past milepost 12.3 (just west of Highway 15). At that time, soft gun cases were not yet invented! In 1901, Jno. Ayer opened his own Shotgun Emporium at 111 S Broadway in Arcadia which became one of the leading suppliers and retailers for soft-guns in Southern California. In 1916, Cpls William Eveland and Irving Ivers opened their Pistol Emporium adjacent to Jno.'s shop on Broadway which served as a center for shooting sports including target practice, air rifle competition, skeet shooting, etc., until it burned down in 1938 Ayer continued to operate his store until his death in 1954; his sons continued to run the business into the late 1990s. In 1955, Mr & Mrs John Bemis opened their Gunsmithing Shop on Railroad Avenue which became one of the most well known firearmsmith shops in California due to its extensive knowledge and experience with all types of firearms including handgunsmithing services as well as rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders and pistols.} In 1976 Wm H Pritchard passed away but left behind a legacy that continues to this day with many local residents active in promoting firearm education through both workshops/inventions offered here at Pritchard's shop while also conducting personal attacks against anyone who dares criticize current American hunting methods}

It was located on the corner of Market and Market Street. The Gun Store on the Hill became one of the most well-known gun stores in America. The second store in Arcadia was called "The Second Amendment Shop." It opened in 1914. The Second Amendment Shop was located at 6th Avenue and Market Street. The Second Amendment Shop was known for its strict gun laws and for selling guns only to individuals over 21 years old. In 1984, the Gun Store on Main Street closed down due to financial difficulties. However, it reopened as a handgun store under the name "arcadianshooting Supply." In 2003, "arcadianshooting Supply" merged with another handgun store, "Guns Unlimited," which had been open since 1978. This merger allowed both stores to sell handguns together under one roof. In 2006, both "Guns Unlimited" and "arcadianshooting Supply" merged into a single company named American Shooting Supplies Incorporated (ASSI). ASSI continued to operate as two separate companies until 2009 when they again merged into one entity under this name.
Arcadia is a small, unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It lies on the east bank of the Kern River and has a population of about 100. The first Europeans to visit Arcadia were the Spanish in 1823. The name "Arcadia" comes from Greek mythology, where it was named after the Cedar Tree that grew in Arcadia. The first post office at Arcadia was established in 1873. Arcadia is one of several communities located within or near Bakersfield city limits that have been closed down by eminent domain requests from the City of Bakersfield over the years. In 2000, Arcadia voters rejected an attempt by Area C councilmember Donny Hathaway to establish a city-within-a-city within the town's boundaries. The last resident to live at Arcadian Hall died on October 10th, 2009 after spending many years there with his wife and children while they awaited developments adjacent to their home which would allow them to move out into their own home without fear of eminent domain seizure by City officials once again.

The following year, Arcadia merged with other towns in Kern County to form Mayaca Beach.
