The first rifles were designed to use sights, which required glasses or a telescope to see what was looking out at the shooter. This gave shooters a much more limited view than they would now have if they used just an open-air sighting system such as those used on shotguns or pistols. To overcome this limitation, early rifle sights consisted of small circles or square icons that could be focused by eye. Thecircle or squareicon could also be moved about so that it would point in any direction desired by the shooter. This allowed shooters to sight in on targets from all over the battlefield, even if they were located behind enemy lines! Over time, various improvements were made to Rifle Scopes designs so that they became more reliable and easier to use. One important improvement was the development of windage adjustments (or windage turrets). These adjustments allow shooters to change how far away their target is from them while still keeping it within range using their eyesight alone! Another improvement was the addition of magnification capabilities which gave shooters increased accuracy when sighting in on their targets. Apple Valley is a small town in Northern California, located on the slopes of Mount Shasta. The name "Apple Valley" comes from a ranch owned by James H. Apple and his son John W. Apple in 1876. The first post office was established at present-day Apple Valley in 1881, and the first store was built there in 1886. The community acquired its current name of Apple Valley after the valley was purchased by the company for $750,000 in 1907. In 1922, apple growers James and Josephine Dooley founded Dooley's Orchard adjacent to present-day Apple Valley Elementary School. Also located within the confines of today's village are two churches: First Presbyterian Church (built 1907) and Methodist Episcopal Church (dedicated 1912). Since the early 1900s, many Apple Valley residents have served as firefighters or police officers; one such individual is Mayor Donny Peake who has held that position since 1998. The most recent resident to achieve fame within our community came about when A&P retail giant Michael Jordan attended an event at nearby Oakhurst High School during his visit to Northern California in 1984 during which he opened up a new virtual shopping mall called "Majestic Meadows." This event kickstarted what would eventually become known as "Jordanstown," now home to more than 20 businesses including Macy's, Sears, JCPenney, Disney Store and Home Depot amongst others - all surrounded by an impressive multi-million dollar estate park that includes six golf courses, three tennis courts and a spa/waterpark
