Red dot sights have been an essential part of the firearms industry for many years and are still in use today. For several years, Eagle Optics hadassiagnized production rights to various patents held by other manufacturers including Sig Sauer AG (SIG), Beretta USA Inc., Ruger Manufacturing Co., FN Herstal SA, Steyr Mannlicher AG & CO., Thompson/Center Arms Inc., Chiappa Firearms Co., Browning Armory Corp., CZUSA v ZHUJIENKO & CO.. One significant innovation within Eagle Optics' lineup was their development of what is now known as "The Red Dot" model which incorporated a fast rotating metal objective lens into an alloys body designed specifically for red dots Sight Devices such as those produced by Sako riflescopic Industries Ltd.. These new designs proved successful enough that AOBC decided to manufacture these products within their own company - American Outdoor Brands Corporation (AOBC) - rather thanlicense them out exclusively to third parties like SIG Sauer AG (SIG), Beretta USA Inc.(Beretta), Ruger Manufacturing Co.(Ruger), FN Herstal SA(FN Herstal), Steyr Mannlicher AG & CO.(Steyr Mannlicher) , Chiappa Firearms Co.(Chiappa) , Browning Armory Corp.(Browning) , CZUSA v ZHUJIENKO & CO.(CZUSA v ZHUJIENKO & CO.) . Eagle Optic's line continued until 1997 when they were acquired by Bushnell Instruments Incorporated who continue production today under the nameBushnell Technology LLC.....
