Apple Valley is a small town in California, located in the San Joaquin Valley. The name Apple Valley comes from the orchard that was once situated there. From early on, apple trees were an important part of the local economy and culture. Ammunition manufacturing began taking place in nearby Livermore in 1868. Over time, ammunition production became more specialized, with many companies specializing in different types of rounds. Ammunition manufacturing continued until 1954 when it was privatized and merged into Remington Arms Company. Ammunition production resumed after Remington's sale and today employs over 1,000 people at three factories across Northern California. The history of ammunition begins with the development of firearms by Native Americans such as the Hupa and Pomo peoples. Firearms played a central role in Indian warfare and were used to take down large animals such as elk and deer. In 1777, Captain George Washington purchased land south of Livermore for a military site where he would build his prison fortress called Fort Point at Nuttingville Creek. The area now known as Apple Valley was included within this purchase and developed as a sheep ranching community supported by artillery installation named Fort Point Park during the 1800s. This situation eventually led Winchester Repeating Arms Company president John Brownell Sr.) Laboratory manager Hiram Maxim (. . .)and Managing Director Clifford Berryman ()to establish their own factory specifically dedicated towards Research & Development (R&D) project leading ultimately to their first successful Rifle Round product –chamber round entitled “Patriots” shipped off commercial Interestingly enough this same year saw first steps towards cartridge design with Hiram Maxim developing what would become known as Game Bird Cartridge ! In 1879 Samuel Colt sold his interest in American Arsenal Companys revolver business USGTOto Benjamin Tucker who immediately renamed it Benjamin Tucker Manufacturing Company before merging it back into Colt United States Gun Running concern later that year under new ownership including future US President Grover Cleveland)! At this point private industry finally overtook government function when Secretary Of War Edwin Stanton ordered all firearms manufacture stopped on April 15th 1880 due primarilyTo budget deficits resultant from increasing violence throughout America!!! Although most events leading up here have been passed off by historians as simply an aberration caused by economic conditions at the time; nonetheless these Facts provide significant insight into how muzzleloading rifles came about! Shortly thereafter firearm inventor Jesse Jameson secured U S Patent No 339060 A Better Way To Fire A Pistol Or Rifle Which proved pivotal resulting inJameson achieving legal rights over Muzzle Loading Rifles design patent!! In addition Jameson met Augustus Chilton who convinced him Kingdom prospects offered far greater potential than anything currently available on earth especially given engineers ability then prevailing conditions!! When news reached England regarding Jamesons patent they quickly dispatched engineer Thomas Fenton ()to set up shop originally intended just for breech loading pistols but soon moved forward having already invented cartridges capable OF firing multiple shots per minute !! This event signaled beginning not justof British Munitions industry but also major advances being made inside United StatesGunrunning company!!! Consequently although revolvers remained dominant until well INTO 20th century both European and American Firearms manufactures gradually switched TO Muzzle Loading Rifles starting with Lakota Revolver produced by Weisenthal Brothers(later Kleinfeldt brothers)in 1886!!!! And finally following leadof Weisenthal BrothersLaguna Beach massacre occurred leaving Americans widely gap shotgunning ammo!!!!
