In the early days of the United States, there was a need for firearms that could be rotated in and out of position. This was done by using swivels on each firearm to change its orientation so it could be fired from any direction. This became known as "gun swivels." The first example of this type of weapon was built by Johnny Appleseed in 1872. He created an armourer's device consisting of two circles that were fixed to a beam at one end and able to rotate. The rotational motion allowed the firearm to befired in any direction, making it an important addition to militias and other self-defense groups. The development of handguns made gun rotation less necessary, but until then, rifles were used as the primary means for firing firearms. Gunswivels began becoming popular again during World War II when many Americans needed new and more versatile weapons due to advancements in technology. Swiveling became even more popular after the development of automatic pistols, which allowed users to fire multiple shots simultaneously without having to reload. These dogs are designed for use with slingshots, bows and arrows, and muzzleloading rifles by attaching a heavy chain around their neck which allows them access to all areas of the animal they are trying To catch without getting close enough for catchin'. Gun dogs use either an open-back bow or a crossbow like an air rifle; however, they all share some common features including being able to spin rapidly on their feet once released from their sling/crossbow carrier
