Anderson is a small town in Kern County, California. It was founded in 1876 by James Anderson and his family. The population was 5,653 at the 2010 census. It is located on the edge of the Mojave Desert. Anderson's history can be traced back to 1876 when James Anderson and his family arrived from Illinois with their wagon train. They set out from Independence, Missouri on foot and soon found themselves in what is now Kern County as they made their way eastward through what is now Utah Territory. Anderson's first post office was established in 1879 and he named it after himself, James Anderson Post Office. In 1880, he built a log cabin which served as the town's first courthouse until 1912 when a new courthouse was erected. In 1902, the community of Osoyoos were established within Anderson boundaries; however, they did not join Anderson until 1906 when they became part of the newly formed Kern County government. As time passed and more people moved into or began working inAnderson, businesses started to arise around baseball diamond (later renamed Pinto Stadium), store fronts (later renamed First National Bank) and surrounding residential areas including Cottonwood Heights subdivision near Interstate 5/I-5 exit 133A south of town which would become home to many famous residents such as Don Faldo and Gary Player over the years including current manager Ned Yost who played for both clubs while living in Osoyoos prior to joining San Diego Padres (now LA Dodgers). The completion of I-5/I-5 exit 133A brought even more traffic to Pinto Stadium so much so that an adjacent road known locally simply as "Pinto Way" was developed specifically for this purpose making access from downtown very easy for all manner of motorists wanting to attend games or visit friends or relatives during those early days before cell phone reception became widespread throughout most North American cities including hereabouts! It wasn't long before either spectator numbers or commercial interests led to significant development around Pinto Stadium with several large concrete buildings being erected along one side - these included: First National Bank building (renamed Chico State Bank), Storefront #1 (now Denny’s restaurant), Storefront #2 (now Home Depot) - all subsequent structures still remain standing today despite being significantly damaged by fire over time! Another large structure built at this time also remains extant today across I-5/I-5exit 133B just north of stadium - this structure served as football fieldhouse until 1993 when school district requirements changed such that athletics facilities must meet county specific standards necessitating demolition of old facility - new football fieldhouse currently stands vacant right next door! As mentioned earlier some notable residents include future manager Ned Yost who played professional ball at nearby Osoyoos High School while growing up while others include current manager Tony La Russa who attended nearby Loyola Marymount University where he played collegiately under legendary head coach Rick Majerus! There are numerous other smaller locales which still retain similar historical tidbits & vibrant atmosphere today although few if any are open to public visitation!

Anderson, California is a small town located in the Central Valley of California. The population was 9,873 at the 2010 census. Anderson is named after civil engineer and politician George Anderson. A post office called Anderson opened in 1887 and remained in operation until 1959. The first permanent settler in what is now Anderson was James Irvine, who arrived on horseback from what is now Nevada on July 8, 1859. He took up land that would become Riverside County and started to build a cabin near present-day downtown on November 17 of that year. By 1860, Irvine had purchased over 4 square miles (10 km²) of land from José Altamirano for $1 per acre ($27,000 at current prices). In 1862, he married Maria del Carmen Cisneros and began to build his home which still stands today - it has been renovated three times since its original construction date in 1863. In 1861–1862 Don Carlos Castilla also came to live with his family in the area and started cattle ranching operations about 5 miles east of Andersen on Rancho San Rafael de la Hacha (now part of Corona). In 1865 he sold all his holdings including Rancho San Rafael de la Hacha to John Sutter for $30,000 (). In 1872 Jules Ferry came through Central Valley as part of his famous Ulysses S. Grant Expedition to survey wagon road route across America southward from Sacramento via Bakersfield and Fresno County. One day while riding over the old rancho las Pajas road bridge located just east of present-day Andersen he noted a large valley extending into central California stretching for several hundred miles (800 km) - this was later named by him Ranchero Vallejo yierra (). Ferry then ordered General John C Fremont's Division under Lieutenant Colonel William Sherman to explore this area northward beyond American River canyon before continuing their journey down the Ventura River valley downstream towards Stockton Bayou where they discovered an agricultural camp known as La Brea Tracks () belonging to Juan Bautista Chico (). On October 26th 1870 Fremont's Brigade marched into La Brea Canyon arriving at night near present-day Petaluma; however they found no evidence whatsoever that any human beings lived thereabouts other than some hides which they burned without discovery or interruption during their march back down the canyon . Shortly afterwards upon reaching American River Junction whereupon Major General Kearny's First Army Corps halted due mainly to weather conditions Kearny sent two companies (- one battalion) upstream along Cache Creek below Yreka Pass under Lieutenant Colonel Augustus Cole until such time as better water supplies could be obtained thenceretailing goods back upriver past Fort Tejon opposite points Cannery Row () & Whetstone Point (. cannonade continued intermittently throughout morning & afternoon )) not having accomplished its object within specified time limit newspapers published erroneous reports stating army had destroyed entire village & sacked all property )
