Gun targets have been a popular pastime in American Canyon, California for many years. The first target shoot in the area was held at the old Indian trail mill on Highway 395, near present day American Canyon High School. From that point on, target shooters would travel to this scenic location to enjoy shooting at various types of targets. Today, there are several different locations where target shooters can find suitable NRA-certified ranges. At one location, you can find 12 large pyrotechnic targets that are perfect for larger groups or competition. Other locations offer smaller targets which can be taken home and enjoyed by individual shooters or team members during hunting seasons or competitions. Regardless of what type of range you choose to visit, make sure to bring your own shotgun and ammunition as these places often require a $10 per person fee for membership. One of the most popular aspects of target shooting is learning how to identify different types of firearms from afar using various techniques like taking aim from close up and getting a good elevation reading with a spotting scope or rifle scope. For those reasons alone, NRA member rates for these gun ranges are usually quite high when compared to other areas in the state!

In the heart of California's Mojave Desert is America Canyon, a place where the sky meets the ground and time stands still. The canyon is more than just an scenic spot – it's also a place where people have been living and working for centuries. America Canyon was first populated by Mono Indians in the late 1800s. The Mono were displaced by settlers in 1849, but they continued to live here until they were removed in 1906. Today, there are some 2,500 people living in America Canyon, most of whom are descendants of the Mono. The history of America Canyon goes back to 1821 when prospectors discovered gold near what is now America Canyon. After a few years of exploration, no gold was found and the prospectors abandoned their search. However, two men named John Custer and George Aiken decided to keep looking because they believed that there might be valuable minerals hidden down this route. They founded Gold Rushtown on Feb 3rd 1825 at what is now called Empire City (the site of today's Empire City). Over time, Gold Rushtown became one of the busiest towns in California due to its location close to new veins of gold being discovered. By 1840, most of downtown had been built up and mining operations had stopped because finding money was so difficult outside of town limits. However, many people from Gold Rushtown moved on to other parts of California after losses during the Civil War made it difficult to mine silver out West again. In 1865-1866 two men named Augustus Earle and Arthur Kilbourne explored about 6 miles eastward from present-day Empire City for a possible silver mine that would become known as Earle Gulch (today's Silver Mine No Hope). Unfortunately for them, they didn't find any silver at all; however they did find some valuable copper deposits which later led to development around Earle Gulch including Silverstone Mining District (now part of Imperial Valley) which began production in 1870. Empire City soon became known as "Theopolis" after it became headquarters for several businesses including Theopolis Mines Company (later renamed Whitney Mining Company), Earle Mines Company (later renamed Inland Copper Mines), American Copper mines company (later renamed Northern Securities Co.), Southern Pacific Railway company train depot complex at nearby Donner Pass,, etc.. While rival companies competed for control over these resources (), residents managed things such as restaurants and stores within walking distance from each other while keeping an eye on developments happening outside their doorsteps.– Today much remains similar about life back then especially with dependent farms animals like cows & horses
