In 1821, two years after Mexico gained independence from Spain, General Manuel Micheltorena erected a military road known as la Bisagra so he could supply troops fighting against American settlers in California during the Mexican-American War. This road bisected Alisal Municipality then became known as Villa Park Avenue east county line to White Oaks Road north county line; the site where Villa Park now stands was part of that old route which ran from Encinitas through Fullerton and down into Huntington Beach before terminating at Laguna Honda Boulevard near present-day Moreno Valley Parkway. On July 14, 1826 by virtue of an act of Assembly passed at Sacramento City Hall, Rancho El Cajon was purchased by José Castro for $3 million dollars with 10% interest paid annually until sold for $20 million to Amador Nevarez in 1853 following Francisco Vasquez’s acquittal on charges of treason against Pueblo Mexican President Agustín De Anza while under his command while stationed at Fort Tejon outside San Diego Bay; Vasquez had been tried but not convicted and therefore continued service with Anza under orders from Emperor Juan Carlos I despite objections from Governor Goodwin Knight who installed Vasquez instead). With Tejon gone Hispanic resident ranch hands acquired title over their holdings including those within present day Aliso Viejo boundaries having arrived there between 1823 and 1828 when Mexico achieved its independence from Spain In 1860 Census there were 100 people residing herein identified as Mexicans only 8% Anglo majority After missions closed Ohlone Indians began moving into area starting around 1830 also large numbers arriving during Gold Rush era etc Finally Cypress Creek Indian Reservation set aside within boundary established by US government circa 1850 also numerous other reservations set aside across Southern California during early 19th century variously called Soquel Valley Indians Reservation Californian MISSION TREE

Aliso Viejo is a city located in Orange County, California. Aliso Viejo was formed on December 3, 1887 from the merger of two small villages: Alisal and Villa Park. The name "Aliso" means "hills." The original settlement was called Villa Park because it was near the now defunct Alisal Rancho del Cucamonga. In 1912, the US Postal Service moved its post office to Villa Park from downtown Los Angeles due to population growth in that area. On October 15, 1916, Mayor Harry Wirths proposed amending the City Charter to add a citizens' assembly which would be empowered with broad civil powers including authority to issue ordinances and make decisions without prior approval of the mayor or City Council. The proposal passed by a vote of 5-1 and became law as part of Chapter XVI of the State Constitution on November 3, 1916 (Lection No. 1). The first commercial development in Aliso Viejo took place in 1922 when developer Doremus Bros., Inc.'s new shopping center opened at Seventh Street and Live Oak Avenue. That same year saw the opening of our first hospital; Our Lady's Hospital then known as Stritch Clinic medical Center after Dr. Edwin J. Stritch who served as Medical Superintendent for Orange County from 1923 until his death in 1959 (Drury Mews Hospital). A few years later we welcomed our second hospital - Mission San José Catholic Medical Center - which today continues to serve as one of Southern California's leading healthcare providers providing quality care for everyone from children to senior citizens! Aliso Viejo is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 102,871 at the 2010 census. Aliso Viejo is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The name comes from Spanish "aliso" meaningwillow tree and "viejo" meaning old or ancient. In 1853, two brothers by the name of Jepson bought some land north of town and named it Alisalvo after their father's old home in Mexico City. The first post office in Aliso Viejo opened on December 12, 1854. By 1865, there were eleven businesses in town with a population of 150 citizens. In 1888, Colonel John Sutter established an agricultural mission here to promote native crops such as apple trees and grapes. In 1915, during World War I, General Douglas MacArthur was assigned to command US forces occupying Japan as commander-in-chief of American Expeditionary Forces (AEF). At that time Japanese troops had been quartered near Alisalvo and MacArthur ordered them to be evacuated so he could march them into Tokyo unopposed on April Fool's Day 1916 without anywarning to the civilian population who would have faced massacre if they had not moved out quickly. A total of 4500 Filipino captives also died during this evacuation although most likely due to disease rather than combat casualties
