Multi tool history in Albany, California goes back to the 1800s when early pioneers brought with them a variety of tools and instruments. Albany, California is a city in the Southern San Joaquin Valley of California. It is located on the banks of the Sacramento River, about 40 miles (64 km) east of Fresno and 120 miles (197 km) south of Sacramento. The population was estimated to be 118,526 as of 2010. The area that would become Albany was first explored by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo in 1542. In 1803, Jedediah Smith discovered gold near what is now Albany and named it after his discovery. The town was founded in 1835 by Captains George Vancouver and Alexandro Lostock. At the time, Albany was one of two settlements on the new Stockton-San Francisco railroad route from Stockton to Sacramento. However, violence and bad news from outlying parts of Northern California led to a rapid decline in business activity during the 1840s; Albany's only post office closed in 1861. By 1870, there were just 14 residents living in what is now Albany proper; however, because so much land had been purchased for development since then, Albany has seen significant growth since then – becoming one of the most populous cities in California with over 100,000 residents by 2000. Today’s downtown district dates back to when it was part of an agricultural village called Northfield which surrounded present day North Avenue and Mission Boulevard on three sides; today’s downtown area includes many historical buildings dating back to this early period including The State Capitol building (1880), First National Bank Building (1907), City Hall Annex (1911), and numerous other Turnbull & Hardin Architecture buildings between 1898-1950 such as 9th Street Presbyterian Church (1910) and 1115 Third Street houses various businesses including post offices and restaurants dating back to 1892 until recent years when they have been converted into condos or apartments

The first multi tool was invented by a man named Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795. He designed an agricultural implement that could be used to pull weeds from fields and cultivate crops. The design of this tool revolutionized agriculture and made it much easier for farmers to produce food. In 1826, John Coker designed the first safety axe which helped reduce accidents and injuries caused by axes during forestry operations. This axe became popular among tree surgeon and painters alike because it allowed them to complete more delicate work without fear of harming their apprentices or clients’ limbs. multi tools began becoming popular in the 1940s when engineers developed new types of implements that were better suited for specific tasks. For example, the hand cranked screwdriver became popular after engineers discovered that using one hand to operate screws created a dangerous situation while trying to fix something else on the same surface (see Figure 1). This type of multitool was called a “handler” because it was designed specifically for handling large objects such as doors or pipelines (see Figure 2). After World War II, many engineers returned back into civilian life but continued developing new types of multitools; one such example is the Phillips head screwdriver which has become standard on most home improvement stores today (see Figure 3). In 1949, Stanley Blackmore designed his own version of the multitool known as the knurled wrench which is still in use today (see Figure 4). This specific type of multitool allows its users to manipulate bolts with ease due to its kerf wheel system (seeFigure 5).

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, Albany experienced significant development which included: -The construction of several major roads including State Route 99 (SR 99), Interstate 580, and US 395; -The opening of several businesses such as Jardine & Hastings Water Storage Company (Jardine), A&P grocery store (A&P), and Frito Lay; -The influx of Mexican immigrants who worked in agriculture or took local jobs; -Expansion into adjacent towns such as Los Angeles; -An increase in manufacturing industry which included cheese production, printing press production, aluminum smelting, meatpacking plants and other heavy industries;

The city was named after Albany, New York, which was then the capital of the United States. In 1907, Albany merged with other nearby towns to form the City of Sacramento.
