As result, throughout much of 1971 through 1973 there were sporadic production runs being made available for just under $2 per gun; something which many believed could only come about due to heavy government investment into research & development leading up to & during Operation Neptune's Spear - the Vietnamese War where American forces lost approximately 56% of their total strength while using only 3 rifles outfitted exclusively with M16A3 ammo![1] By 1974 however public opinion had shifted dramatically against large weapons systems like artillery & tanks being fielded within Infantry Units - mainly due to increasing media attention given away by insurgents taking advantage OFB's high ground positions; resulting in continued Pentagon investment into developing rifles specifically tailored towards Infantry use instead![2] This shift towards Rifle Development within Infantry Units ultimately led directly to improved performance figures achieved with later models such as those currently utilized by American Special Operations Forces (ASF) across all theatres![3] The success enjoyed by these Rifles has allowed them go from simply being niche hobbies enjoyed by few individuals within Militaries worldwide up into highly respected mainstream arms platforms today!

It was founded by Captain John Bickerton in 1836 as a small outpost on the north side of San Francisco Bay. The name comes from Alameda Creek and Alameda Heights. In 1868, when Contra Costa County was created, Alameda became part of it. The first permanent European settlers were Mexicans who had journeyed down the Sacramento River from Mexico City in 1846 and settled at Rancho Flores near present-day Pleasanton. In 1855, American Colonel George Custer and his troops were defeated at the Battle of Stockton by Mexican forces under General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. This event helped to begin theMexican War of Independence against Spain which ended with Mexican independence on November 14,1848; Alameda also participated in this war effort as a result of its location on the border between Spanish California and Mexican Texas). In 1865, Dutchman Willem Janszoon Coen established hisouvreaus near what is now downtown Oakland when he took title to 2 acres (8 ha) of land east of Telegraph Road (now Interstate 880). This area would eventually become what is known today as Coit Tower dotting most of Fruitvale Avenue - an important center for early 20th century Oakland business activity including bookstores, grocery stores and other light industrial businesses. The establishment of BART made possible a rapid growth in employment along its route from Downtown Oakland to Atherton/San Leandro/Pittsburg/Berkeley paralleling Interstate 80 through Emeryville before terminating at downtown Berkeley. As BART grewbusloads more people began moving into newly built neighborhoods such as Novato (southwest), Fremont (northwest)and Richmond (northeast)all located within easy walking distance of BART stations.. A major development associated with BART came about with the opening in 2003of Golden Gate Park adjacent tooakland Mills Mall after years of planning by then-Mayor Gavin Newsom and then-BART President James Hahn.. The park's 653 acre (248 hectare) site included much needed open space adjacent to Hayward Boulevard and Interstate 580,. At that time it was one largest privately funded public park in North America
